Awesome. I kind of wish they'd show The Mechanik instead of Direct Action though. It's also still D's best directorial effort.

Some cool trivia info from the organizer:
Dolph was scheduled to be a guest at the show around 1989 but things didn't work out at that time. I was working on a promotion with the video company releasing The Punisher and Dark Angel (it was under the title I Come in Peace at the time) and they supplied prints of each in the 35MM format. The Punisher was screened in 35MM on a triple bill with The Flash (the CBS-TV series-a rare 35mm screening) and The Guyver. I Come in Peace was screened with Robotjox and The Watchers II (I think these were the films, I can't find the flyers for each event right now). I think my show was the only time The Punisher and I Come in Peace were shown on film in the US. The Command Performance and Direct Action screening will be in Blu-Ray.

SWEET! I'm about three hours away from L.A. and I plan on going to the convention to check out the screenings of Dolph's movies and attend the 1PM interview Sunday. Can anyone clarify the address of the Shrine Auditorium? The addy on the flyer posted her says 700 W. 32nd St, but on Mapquest it list the addy as 649 W. Jefferson Blvd. Which is the right location? :?

First report on the convention with pics 8)
http://craigzablo.proboards.com/index.c ... 119&page=1
Hello guys, I just got back from the Science Fiction/Comic Book Convention in downtown Los Angeles where Dolph Lundrgren made a special guest appearance! Not sure if any other zoners were there but it was great to see him in person. He looked in great shape and he spoke for a good while, did a short Q&A session with the fans, and then signed about a hundred autographs. I took a few photos, unfortunately somewhat blurry, but they're here for all to see:

Dolph signs a He-Man sword replica
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y11xr_EhbH4

'stallowned' (Mike) continues his report:
The host took up most of the time with his rambling and IMO, he was trying to come at Dolph like he was some form of legitimate reporter. Didn't really give him much to work with and would sometimes not even give the man a chance to speak. When the open Q&A went down...some questions were:

1. How was like fighting JCVD now in comparison to UniSol1?
Dolph : It was a lot easier now, let's just say less resistance *laughs*

2. In relation to your villain roles, how much creative freedom was allowed on the set? Specifically UniSol1..

3. Are you in and developments for any Marvel films?

4. What did you think of the last two Punisher films?

5. *Teacher Question* Do you have any advice towards the kids in my class in regards to chemical engineering and pursuing that?

There were some other questions but I was pretty nervous as I was up there asking questions as well. Dolph did express disinterest in comic book characters saying he's "not into jumping from wall to wall" but he likes to be grounded. There was even a crackhead looking lady who caused a scene during the Q&A, she looked and acted like she was ready to conceive Dolph's child right there on the spot. But Dolph held his composure well and luckily any contact with the lady.

Overall it was more or less a surreal experience being there in the flesh with the original Punisher..Hope I gave some good insight as to what went down. Thanks guys!

Mike.

I thought the interviewer did a great job. He didn't ask too many of the usual questions, like stuff about Rocky and Universal Soldier.

There were some very weird people there, but for the most part everyone was very respectful. The crackhead lady situation, Dolph handled very well and like a true movie star.

Dolph was a very good sport about everything and he looked like a class-act.

I agree, it was for the most part a great event! Well worth the three hour drive to LA. I don't think the woman was a crackhead...just off her meds. She believes Star Trek was filmed "On Location"! D'OH! She did grab Dolph's bottle of water from the table after he left the stage(beat me to it, damn). I got Dolph's autograph and got to thank him for all the years of great action films. I hope he does a lot more live promotions between now and the release of "The Expendables". LONG LIVE THE DOLPH! :D
