i went into a movie rental place and asked if there were any movies with dolph lundgren in them. the clerk has this "what planet are you from" look on his face. i was so pissed off!! this happened many times too!!
why doesnt anyone know dolph in canada???

Oh it's just that people don't know their jobs anymore. When I was lost in a city I didn't know I used to stop at gas stations and ask for directions. Nowadays people don't know anything and I'm lucky if they understand my language at all. In the USA I asked a guy in an electronics store if a device had a certain feature. He read the text from the box to me. Great.
The video clerk probably didn't know who John Woo is. But I bet he knows who Jessica Alba is.

She is very famous around younger people. She plays the lead role in a very successful american TV series called Dark Angel.

That show died off several years ago. The first season was pretty good, but got stale from there, even with James Cameron behind it. She is also in the new Sin City movie.

Well... Dolph isn'y the most famous actor, but sure, the clerk should know that. Dolph isn't popular here. Sure they know who he is but they don't like him as an actor because he's not a good actor after all.
The only movie I like him in is Rocky IV, he did a great job with that and he made a good role model, and that movie is the only movie people relate to when they here the name Dolph Lundgren. the most of the public I think... He may be the last tall, blond viking from Sweden...
