John Claude Van Damme Rips off Dolph!
Dolph's directorial debut The Defender is proving popular amonst those who have seen it, and looking at the synopsis of VD's next film it seems he wants a piece of that pie.
Jean-Claude is currently in pre-production for his upcoming film 'Second in Command,' which will begin shooting around June in Eastern Europe
In the film, Jean-Claude plays an official who's just been appointed as Second In Command to the U.S. Ambassador at an American Embassy in a small, turbulent Eastern European nation. When local insurgents attempt a coup d'etat, the nation's President takes refuge inside the embassy. The embassy is then besieged by the well-armed insurgents. The U.S. Ambassador is killed in the ensuing action, and now it's up to Jean-Claude and the embassy's small detachment of U.S. Marines to fend off the attackers.
Holy crap, it's almost identical. It own't be as good I can bet you. Same plot and also filming in Romania. I think that is embarrassing for Van Damme that his next movie is following on from Dolph;s, which thus far all who have seen it say is better than VD's Wake Of Death, and doing a film almost identical in plot. Van Damme and Seagal are supposed to be the big boys of the B movie aciton film. Sir Dolph is the new king people.
