I digitized clips from a promo video for the Spanish Kyokushin federation, includes footage from 1999 at a seminar by Kenji Midori in Panticosa and a demo with Brian Fitkin in 1991-92 (at World championships or Australiasian)

The State of Kyokushin in the North – Part II
1) Stockholms Kyokushin Karate, Södermannagatan – www.stockholmskarate.com/
The club is one of the first in Sweden, established by Sempai Johnny Grimståhl (who is still training in the club) in 1970. The club is notable for being the club in which the famous action movie star Sensei Dolph Lundgren used to train (and still do on occasion when he visits Sweden), but it is equally famous in Kyokushin circles for being the club of Shihan Brian Fitkin. Shihan is without contest the best instructor I have ever trained for, and I’m proud to tell people that he is my Shihan! Stockholms Kyokushin Karate is affiliated with Shinkyokushin and Kancho Kenji Midori.

Dolph Lundgren met Khabrick - KWU World Championship mascot

Image

Hollywood cinema star and Kyokushin sensei Dolph Lundgren has supported the idea of Kyokushin unification by meeting with KWU special correspondent and giving an interview with photosession followed by. This is the first time ever when Kyokushin World Championship has a mascot - a baby tiger Khabrick, and this young beast was so pleased to meet one of his idols, that he could not help asking for a photo.

Dolph Lundgren is a legendary man not only in cinema, but in Kyokushin karate world as well, and he undoubtedly is a man of fundamebtal principles, who trains hard for his physical and spiritual development. Thanks to his friendship with David Pickthall, IFK vice president he was glad to make a contact with KWU.

Stay tuned, more details soon.
