Here's what the seller told me:

just asked consignor and he states piece was acquired from an FX artist who worked at Richard Edlund's Boss Studios on the film. Probably why it also did not look like the regular artists' work on the film

Anyone catching the stellar video game adaptation, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG this weekend may notice some strong similarities in terms of the story and conflict with 1987's MOTU. I'm waiting to hear the die-hard Sonic fans complaining about all the action being set on earth when "Sonic is from another planet," etc. Doubtful though considering SONIC is making a serious crack in the box office. So perhaps grounding an other-worldy character on earth is a wise move, eh???

Personally I think the "Earth setting" subject matter is tired to the bone, should be a non topic by now, and I would rather we/people talk about other more interesting aspects, as we do in cinephilia (the scholar, original definition) of film study, filmmaking and film history.
