There were tons of updates on social media and nothing for while now, I hope it's not indicating that the shoot was a light-speed one...

Sadly, I think it was. That's just the reality of these productions today. Two week shoot, Dolph and Mickey Rourke each on set for maybe four of those days, and then their scenes are sprinked throughout the film "fooling" us into thinking that they're the leads. Just take a look at any of the films Bruce Willis has done within the last ten years. The fact of the matter remains is that with physical media going by the wayside and everything going to streaming, these films have less and less budgets to work with -- many times with $2 million. After the stars' salaries are accounted for, that doesn't leave you with much to work with... Hence why things are shot fast and in the can quickly. I keep hoping that one of these cheap DTV films will at least look good, but that has yet to happen (in my opinion). Personally, I think the real stars of these films are everyone working behind the scenes 12-15 hour days desperately trying to make the film turn out as best as it possibly can and rarely getting the accolades for it.

Has a lot of energy and a great cast (not just the usual DTV names) but one thing bugs me and that is the grading. Is that final? Because the film looks SO UGLY.

This could be fun. Reasonable budget and actual gunfire/explosions.

Well, Scott Adkins joined the film and shot some stuff over the past few days.

I knew there was something fishy about wrapping it after 10 days (not even 14 or 18), and then Sesma started shooting another film called ABANDONMENT, so that's confusing.

Since SECTION EIGHT is from some of the same producers as PUPS ALONE, I hope it won't take four and a half years to get released!

Not real news for us fans, but hey, at least The Hollywood Reporter is talking about Dolph.
“We couldn’t be more excited to have such an incredible cast joining Section Eight. Dolph, Scott and Ryan are so uniquely talented, we can’t wait to see them clash on the big screen,” said Burrows.

I doubt Dolph will face Adkins, but I might be wrong
And after snooping around a bit, Kwanten seems to be main character here.

This is gonna be one of those "Get a marginally known TV actor" for the lead and pepper in familiar names sort of deals.

Kwanten is a good actor. That's certainly promising if he's the lead (and seems he's throwing down against Adkins looking at Insta). Kwanten was in Red Hill by Patrick Hughes (Exp 3) which is a really underrated neo-western.

Oh, and I thought I had never seen him, RED HILL was really, really good. Patrick Hughes is really skilled and talented, people should revisit that film rather than holding Hughes responsible for the EX3 debacle...!

Christian Sesma:
You’ve got a couple of interesting projects coming up; I’m particularly excited about Section Eight. How’s that coming along?

We literally just finished it the other night, my friend. It’s awesome. It’s going to blow everybody’s socks off. The announcement comes this week, and I think you’re going to be in love with the cast and what it’s going to look like; it’s really great. It’s almost like an indie action mission impossible.
