They're actually releasing that film? Well, it looks like it could turn out to be at least a time waster, but honestly, after hearing so much bad word of mouth about The Expendables 4, i'd rather spend my time watching Hidden Strike instead, for at least two reasons.

One is that it looks similar to unproduced 90's action film Sandblast which i was always curious about, which would star Wesley Snipes as hero, and Jean Claude Van Damme as villain, and Eddie Murphy was also originally going to star before Snipes;

Second is that i actually do want to see just how bad (or good...?) this movie is, condering its troubled background. For those of you that don't know, as Jox said originally it was going to star Stallone and Chan in 2017, then Stallone left and was replaced by Cena, it was filmed in 2018 and Chan and Cena even did promo interviews for it, then it was shelved for last five years for several different reasons, it went through few title changes; Ex Baghdad, Project X-Traction, Project X, SNAFU... And i remember it was said by many "official" sources, even last year, how the film will never be released.

Now I am even more dubious releasing 2 movies of the same director almost at the same time in the fall of 2023. Taking in consideration that this Chan/Cena movie was shot in 2018, we will have to wait for another 2 years to see EX4 :D

It's very likely they're actually capitalizing on it, taking the opportunity to release it around EX4, hence the mention in the trailer.

According to the IMDB credits, Kurt Wimmer was brought on board as writer (I guess Statham brought him, as they were workingon the Beekeeper). WImmer is not the best screenwriter you can get :(

I never really looked at the writers for EX4, and wow the 4 credited writers on IMDb make me even less interested in this.

Kurt Wimmer, writer of a few OK 2000s movies. But also the writer of films such as Ultraviolet, Sphere, Misfits, and the remakes of Children of The Corn, Total Recall, and Point Break.

Tad Daggerhart, who only has one credit so far for the (horrible) Black Lotus film.

Max Adams, writer of Heist and two random Bruce Willis movies.

Spenser Cohen, writer of Moonfall and Extinction.

Out of all these writers, Kurt Wimmer is probably the most "promising" one... Hopefully we'll get a trailer soon to get a better feel of the movie.

Well, it seems that even MetroFilms gave a bit upon the movie, as it's gonna be released 2/3 weeks after the american release.
I kinda liked that goofy over-the-top tagline :oops:

They all look like they are having fun. Still looking forward to this.

Trailer doesn't really start until the 45-second mark :lol:.

The trailer doesn't look that bad, definitely better than I expected. Action scenes appear to be decent (aside from some noticeable CGI here and there), and newcomers like Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais and 50 Cent are welcome additions.

It is obvious that this isn't truly EX4, but instead that Christmas story spin-off. Hopefully it does well at the box office to warrant a fifth film. I am now curious how little Stallone is actually in it. We know he didn't shoot much, and the trailer doesn't show much of him either. Mostly scenes from that bar fight.

I don't really care for the weird Stahtham/Fox thing they are going for at all. Franchise should always have been about past action stars in new world threat situations. Seeing Dolph in the trailer was the only thing I was interested in. They die only when their dead??? Wtf
