Kind of off-topic but here is a clip of Mark Goldblatt revealing how the ending of TERMINATOR 1 was done:

And while we're at it here is a featurette about his work on ROBOCOP:

Happy 80th birthday to Dutch actor Jeroen Krabbé.

And I realize that he was my age (45) when he played Gianni Franco... actually a year less even (since it was shot in 1988).

Interesting interview with Max Goldblatt, son of Mark and now also an editor, who notably talk about growing up and hanging out in the editing room with his dad...

Japanese-dubbed clips

EDIT:
The Japanese actor who dubbed Dolph, Otsuka Akio, is the same actor who later dubbed Ray Stevenson in the role. He dubbed Dolph in a dozen of other films, as well as Steven Seagal, Nicolas Cage, Denzel Washington, Antonio Banderas, Samuel L. Jackson, Liam Neeson and more...

10 years ago, I embarked on this project starting with 30-page liner notes, unaware that it would morph into something much bigger...

(Not sure what that changes compared to the vinyl released last year... which is now at €9,95 only from the Notefornote site)

The makeup on Dolph's face suggests the outlines of a skull, which was supposed to look like dirt or grease and not beard stubble contrary to some beliefs (confirmed by makeup supervisor).

I wonder if the idea of this was a direct influence on further use of Frank wearing skull paint in other media (I believe the first appearance was the tie-in video game to the 2004 movie on Xbox and PlayStation), or whether it was just an independent natural progression of the use of the skull motif
