I hope they play it for laughs to be honest, like everyone is in on the joke, I'd rather have them over-acting and making quips than trying to take it serious.

Oh really guys, give this movie a chance. I mean, like I said a few times before, Boll-bashing is the hipster sport on the Net but the only Boll movie I've seen (Far Cry) was ok and I've even heard a few good things about his recent movies. So hey, it might be a good flick, who knows?

So enough already, we want our hero to give his best! How is he going to motivate himself if he stubles across this? Guys! Support your man! This movie will rock! Of course it wil!

What are you his mom? He'll be fine, even if he stumbles across this thread, he's a grown man.

I wish he would check out this forum more, because some of the advice and criticism he gets from here is far superior to any that his management seem to be offering him. There are some pretty knowledgeable people on here (like evegotbet...).

Obviously we HOPE that In The Name Of The King 2 is going to be amazing, but we weren't born yesterday. It looks like it might not be the brilliant blockbuster we were hoping for.

Come to think of it, Nate MAY actually have been born yesterday, how old are you again Nathan? Just kidding, pal. (...wish I was young still)

At this point, there's nothing more we can do than hope for the best with this one... I think what's most disappointing, especially with us fans, is that after the stellar years of 2009-2010 and the success of THE EXPENDABLES, we were hoping for something better for Dolph. Work in an Uwe Boll film is a step backwards, no matter how you look at it.

Oh well. The knife fight sounds cool as does seeing Dolph in a medieval-esque setting... Guess we just have to remain optimistic now.

There wasn't going to be a big project he would have been able to fit in before TE2 so he's doin this for a paycheck....at this point its just getting his name out there and staying on peoples minds until the TE2 hype machine starts up again. He'll be fine... the most important will be what movie he does first after TE2 is done filming.

Apparently so. But this is purely an acting gig for Dolph; a paycheck and nothing else. He actually refers to it as just that on his website (an "acting gig"). I wonder if the 24 days he's scheduled to be shooting encompasses the film's entire shoot as well. If so, it seems like quite the rush job, which is a common trait for Boll...

Either way, I'll be looking forward to seeing some pictures on set hopefully relatively soon.

Was hoping Lundgren would at least get an interesting co-star to add some juice to this flick. But I guess the days of Boll being able to pony up the dough to folks like Ben Kingsley are long gone.

Heck, I'd even take Udo Kier at this point.

That was always the thing that to be honest, fascinated me about Uwe Boll. Despite his reputation and lackluster box office record, he was continually able to get the likes of Ben Kingsley, Michael Madsen, Christian Slater, Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham, Ray Liotta, and Burt Reynolds to star in his films. Maybe they were simply paychecks for these actors, but he must have really offered these actors a ton for them to star in his work...

But yes, those days do appear behind him. His days of films going to theatres are over, and he's become a DTV director. Most of his films that have come out have starred relative no name actors with the exception of Michael Pare who seems to have a great working relationship with Uwe... Other than Pare, Boll really doesn't have any other name stars headlining or starring in his upcoming pictures (with the exception of Dolph of course).

Well here's to this movie hopefully suprising a few even if it does sound rushed and a bit corny. Dolph has been able to turn crap into mediocre before lets hope he can work his magic again.

So Boll has spilled the beans on what the storyline will be.
Speaking about the plot – which is set in the kingdom of Ehb – director Boll said: “It’s like contemporary, right now big city, and we have Dolph Lundgren basically being a cop or like a fighting coordinator working as this, and one night he gets attacked by ninjas in his house and fell with the ninjas into a vortex back in time.

“And then it turns out it’s like 50 years after the first part ‘In the Name of the King’ ended, and Ehb is destroyed and everybody is dead, Jason Statham and everybody who was in the first part, got wiped out.

“They say he was basically sent into the future, he’s the son of Jason Statham, and he was sent into the future, brought up in an orphanage, because the parents felt that they would all die. So he is basically the last survivor of the kingdom of Ehb so he should bring the kingdom back in charge.”

Hey, as my friend Tom said, at least he didn't do the "knight comes to modern day" cliche.

Of course, they are practically look-alikes.
