I thought this would be the most exciting Dolph news this month. The trailer fuckin sucks. If I wasn't a Dolph fan and saw this trailer, I wouldn't even remember it or see the movie. Badly cut, only showed Dolph's name. Pfff, what is wrong with these people? I could do a million times better at this piss poor marketing attempt. Sorry to rain on the parade guys but I just wasn't impressed.

Remember the 3:50 mins trailer for DRAGON EYES? Those marketing/editing guys seem to have no clue... where is Joel Silver in all this?! His name is nowhere in the credits in the poster billing block whereas Moshe Diamant, whom I had no idea was involved, is credited...

yeah that trailer is pretty poor.
It is beyond me that proffesionals getting paid can't produce something better than this.

On the bright side though... Dolph looks and sounds badass and the character seems cool enough.

My sentiments as well. I hope more of that carries over into the film. Dolph has a lot to offer as a villain.

I've already said so before. The marketing department is very bad.The trailer has good scenes but the cut scenes and music are amateurish. Dolph's role is very awesome.I hope the movie is better than the trailer. Joel Silver, where are you? :(

the trailer, of course not well edited, promises some nice shots (a "panic room" aspects with the security camera assuring some steady shots). I'm still confident in the movie despite this shitty trailer. :)

Jox, or anyone else that knows, is Stash House going to be in half a dozen theatres like Assassination Games was? I don't see either movie listed on Box Office Mojo...also does One in the Chamber fall under the AfterDark Action banner, so is likely to recieve the same treatment, or is it a completely different entity?

Yeah it's gonna be in about 10 years in big cities, then more theaters will be added or move other cities. The listing is on their site (and for instance the Grauman's Chinese theater in LA is a big famous one). The movie is starting to get listed on movie ticket sites

ONE IN THE CHAMBER has nothing to do with After Dark Action, it's produced by MPCA like ASSASSINATION GAMES. Does it stand a chance to go limited as well? Maybe, maybe not, but let's not get our hopes up. Anchor Bay picked it up for the US by the way.

Think it's safe to say that One in the Chamber will not be getting a limted theatrical release, which is fine... I think that was known from the get go. Either way, I imagine after its run in those ten theatres and on VOD, Stash House will be getting a DVD release sometime this summer in the US...

Thanks Jox, that's good to know. Assassination Games seemed to do virtually no business by what I can gather from the van damme forum, there were no people in some screenings and a couple in others. Obviously they are either promoting the DVD release by means of a small theatrical release or testing the waters for something bigger. Hopefully Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning will see the inside of picture houses in the US, but as for Stash House, it would be nice to see it doing well and gaining a little bit of buzz.

Of course those releases are a mean to promote the BD/DVD release (even for bigger movies) but for us it's better than nothing given where Dolph's releases were 10 years ago. It's also easier and cheaper to do now since the films are shot in HD so they don't have to spend a lot on lab costs and prints.

I saw the trailer myself, it was pretty poor. Shame, because it looks like it could be quite a good film.

About After Dark Films:
After Dark Films, an Independent motion picture studio, was formed in 2006 by director/filmmaker Courtney Solomon and Hong Kong based real estate magnate Allan Zeman. After Dark Films’ first motion picture film release was An American Haunting (2006) starring Sissy Spacek and Donald Sutherland. Co-founder and CEO Courtney Solomon wrote, produced, and directed this film under the newly formed After Dark Films banner.

After the release of An American Haunting, partners Solomon and Zeman formed a multiyear marketing and distribution deal for Horrorfest “8 Films To Die For®” between After Dark Films and Lionsgate Entertainment, with After Dark handling theatrical marketing & releases and Lionsgate handling the distribution of all ancillary forms of media (Home Video, Pay TV, Pay Per View). After Dark Films released Horrorfest 4 in theaters on January 29, 2010.

Building on the success of Horrorfest, After Dark released the first 8 originally produced horror films in January 2011 under the moniker After Dark Originals. Its second slate of 8 more originally produced films, After Dark Originals 2 is currently in production.

About Dark Castle Home Entertainment:
Dark Castle Entertainment was launched in 1999 by producer Joel Silver (“Lethal Weapon,” “Die Hard,” “The Matrix”) and Robert Zemeckis (“Castaway,” “Back to the Future”). One of the most prolific and successful producers in the history of motion pictures, Silver has produced a catalog of over 60 films, which have earned a combined gross of $13.5 billion worldwide from all sources.

With Dark Castle, Silver expanded his production prowess into the horror market and began with a string of hit films starting with the record-breaking 1999 opening of “House on Haunted Hill,” followed by “Thir13en Ghosts” in 2001, “Ghost Ship” in 2002, “Gothika” in 2003 and “House of Wax” in 2005.

Dark Castle Home Entertainment was created in 2007 to produce original horror films and sequels to Dark Castle pictures that would be released directly to the home market. Some of the movies include “Return to House on Haunted Hill” starring Jeffrey Combs and Amanda Righetti, and “The Hills Run Red,” starring Sophie Monk.
