I got my MECHANIK DVD yesterday, and yes, it rocked my socks off!!!

It's a little early for me to talk about the film, but yes Dolph confirms is a damn talented director and THE MECHANIK is at least as good as THE DEFENDER! The only reason I wouldn't support Tom in saying is better, is that they seem to be too different to compare each other.

I tend to prefer revenge movies, to those siege type movies. I think Mechanik has more diverse action and locations, plus looks even more polished. Defender has more tension becasue of the type of movie it was.
Both movies can;t be faulted in any department, and it's not often you can say that about a Lundgren movie. I will say Dolph's directing has improved also and that bodes well for his next. The more films he does the better he'll get. If both movies sell well he'll get some bigger budgets to tinker with.

Can someone tell us about the Martial Arts in this movie?

Will we finally see him kick ass again (I mean a kick more than 120°) or will that never happen again since "showdown in little tokio"?

The trailer is cool, I had a similar reaction. HOWEVER, it doesn't do the film justice at all. You;ll shit a brick when you watch the film.

i haven't seen "the mechanik" yet , but i have a question : is the greek version cut ? because , it's only 90minutes , instead of the 94minuts announced on the IMDB !

No, it's not cut it's just because the Greek is PAL (25 frames per second) which makes it run a slightly faster. Because movies in theaters play at 24 frames a second they always lose a fea minutes of the total running time when telecine and converted to PAL.

real slick film, my only complaint is where the hell was his body? no flesh on display at all,not so much of a chest shot(well not his anyway) that was very selfish of him because he new i would be watching  oh and he should have had more lines but i think that was the character he played.

I finally got my copy and watched it earlier today, what a great film. When I first became a huge fan of this guy years ago I never thought it would be for any reason more than what he could do in front of the camera. To now see what he can for the second time behind the camera is astonishing. It really is a much different film from THE DEFENDER and you can see Lundgren's appreciation for Eastwood come through with his "man of few words" role in the MECHANIK. I also have to give credit to Mr. Hill for taking a standard story of revenge and making it come alive with a script that is as good as you'll see in any big screen action film.

The only downside to now watching THE MECHANIK is that there are no other Lundgren films lined up (that we know of). I'm so used to having something on the horizon but I'm confident that he'll continue his good streak whether he's acting, directing, or both.

It really is a wierd feeling. Whenever I;ve had a new Dolph film there's always been another on the horizon, now no word on anything except Dolph saying 3-4 projects. I hope we get some updates soon. We've been spoilt this year with two great Dolph films.
