Lundgren enjoys one of his meatiest roles in years
Sylvester Stallone's dream of flying in the vintage bomber featured in his new blockbuster The Expendables for the film's Los Angeles premiere was dashed when he learned the aircraft had been crushed.
The actor/director was hoping to use the old plane as a prop on the red carpet and he was devastated when he realised the craft had been turned into a heap of rusting metal.
Co-star Jason Statham wasn't surprised - because the 60-year-old plane shouldn't really have been in the sky for the film.
He explains, "We found out the plane was barely airworthy... It hadn't been serviced in 30 years.
"Sly wanted to bring it in for the premiere and we found out it had been crushed into a cube... never to be flown again." »

With a different distributor in nearly every territory, official, comprehensive numbers are still unavailable for the The Expendables. With the information that has been gathered, though, it appears the ensemble action movie earned at least $15 million in around 20 territories. This includes a solid first place debut in Russia ($6.4 million), along with decent second place showings in Australia ($3.1 million) and Spain ($1.8 million).
Sylvester Stallone is still out stumping "The Expendables".
One of the stops on the big guy's publicity trail was KIIS FM where he sat down to chat with Ryan Seacrest. Seacrest asked Sly about the inevitable sequel, and who might be in it.
"If you're on a winner you just stay with it. It would be great to get the guys back, and maybe get some of the other guys who weren't in it - like Van Damme and whatever - to be in it, and then bring in some young bloods, and have Bruce Willis as the villain. I said 'Bruce, chasing you for two hours? that would be great! I can get behind that."
