Propstore has recently sold EXPENDABLES prop weapons for a few thousand dollars including the Stunt M79 Grenade Launcher used by Gunner (re-spelled in the credits) Jensen

Just got back from it. The movie was OK but forgettable. Dolph was the highlight but he is way underused.
I expected more since Stallone was the director. This is possibly his worst film (excluding Staying Alive) as a director.

ROCKY IV wasn't a great directorial piece either (it's no ROCKY II) yet how fun is it?!

I don't think Sly ever approached THE EXPENDABLES as one of his serious/artistic babies as he did with say the latest RAMBO. THE EXPENDABLES was never meant to break to be groundbreaking and he couldn't take much risk this way because the project was already a big gamble (kind of the same with like when people critize Cameron for the weak AVATAR script).

I thought he did an amazing job as a director with Rocky IV. It was pure excitement, and the fights were incredible. The fights in this movie are too quickly cut and shaky, with very obvious use of stunt doubles. I hate to be a critic, but this is about the only film of Stallone's as a director that I didn't think was that good.

Lundgren enjoys one of his meatiest roles in years

Sylvester Stallone's dream of flying in the vintage bomber featured in his new blockbuster The Expendables for the film's Los Angeles premiere was dashed when he learned the aircraft had been crushed.

The actor/director was hoping to use the old plane as a prop on the red carpet and he was devastated when he realised the craft had been turned into a heap of rusting metal.

Co-star Jason Statham wasn't surprised - because the 60-year-old plane shouldn't really have been in the sky for the film.

He explains, "We found out the plane was barely airworthy... It hadn't been serviced in 30 years.

"Sly wanted to bring it in for the premiere and we found out it had been crushed into a cube... never to be flown again." »

No1 at Paris first screenings, THE EXPENDABLES manages to beat up THE KARATE KID (yet present with more screens).

Jox, looking for some information on Dolph doing a Radio interview. I don't know if this is an older one or this will be live. I just heard a blip of info on 96.5 The Buzz here in Kansas City. It might be on the Church of Lazlo show but I am not sure. I would like to listen to it. Searching for info on when it will be aired. I can't find info on their site. Heard anything?

Nevermind, it will be tomorrow morning on Afentra's big fat morning buzz. I'll post the time when I get it.

Edit: sometime between 6am-10am Central. Could be anytime in that timeframe. I'll keep listening to the station today to see if they reveal a more exact time. You can stream it and listen tomorrow online.

With a different distributor in nearly every territory, official, comprehensive numbers are still unavailable for the The Expendables. With the information that has been gathered, though, it appears the ensemble action movie earned at least $15 million in around 20 territories. This includes a solid first place debut in Russia ($6.4 million), along with decent second place showings in Australia ($3.1 million) and Spain ($1.8 million).

Domestic gross until Tuesday: $42,632,685

Sylvester Stallone is still out stumping "The Expendables".
One of the stops on the big guy's publicity trail was KIIS FM where he sat down to chat with Ryan Seacrest. Seacrest asked Sly about the inevitable sequel, and who might be in it.
"If you're on a winner you just stay with it. It would be great to get the guys back, and maybe get some of the other guys who weren't in it - like Van Damme and whatever - to be in it, and then bring in some young bloods, and have Bruce Willis as the villain. I said 'Bruce, chasing you for two hours? that would be great! I can get behind that."

Just finished, he was on for just a few minutes but his humor really came through on it.
This is not word for word, just from pieces I can remember:
Afentra: Who has aged the best in the group?
Dolph: You mean besides myself?
Afentra: Of course, we won't include you!
Dolph: Well, everyone has aged pretty well. Stallone's over 60
Afentra: Yeah, he's aged well.

Afentra: Who's more difficult to understand, Jet Li or Mickey Rourke?
Dolph: Maybe the Gov-uh-nat-uh! (Arnold accent) This got some laughs
They asked questions about languages and about how he got started in film as well as how he got involved with this movie.
Afentra also congratulated him on the movie "kicking Julia Robert's Eat Pray Love's ass" Dolph mentioned quite a high percentage of women are watching The Expendables (40%) which they were not expecting.

It was a good short interview. Glad to hear it on the radio hear in Kansas City!
