I know it was brought up in the memorbilia section of the forum(s), but I recommend checking out the Marvel Comics series Super Soldiers from 1993. The series lasted only eight issues, but it is a complete ripoff of the original UNIVERSAL SOLDIER movie, particularly the first two issues. Everything from the premise to the reporter element is virtually redone in the series. Kinda funny to read and draw parallels. The antagonist even utters the line, "I'm all ears" in a panel of the first issue. I highly doubt this was just a clever coincidence.
I know NOW Comics put out their own adaptation of the movie, which makes me wonder if Marvel's eight-issue series was their attempt to capitalize on the movie itself. Did NOW beat Marvel to the punch, and was this Marvel's version of their proposed adaptation?
