Not yet, even to me Synapse would not tell until the restoration and mastering of the movie is finished and until they locked a date. I think they have other titles on hold to release first so I wouldn't expect it before the end of summer or the fall but this edition is gonna be worth it! 8)

The cool thing about this new Blu Ray release is that Synapse are the company that releases Red Scorpion in the UK. Well, it would be cool if Synapse UK hadn't become defunct years ago, after which the rights to the film moved over to Optimum. Which means we won't see this in the UK, but we could have done in the past. Gah :(

From Don May Jr at Synapse:
RED SCORPION has one of the most unintentionally hilarious lines of dialogue EVER @ 01:32:28:14. We know what he was SUPPOSED to say, but it just comes out all wrong... Ha!

Guess which line he's referring to...

Casino jack is finally out on DVD, but apparently has no reference to Red Scorpion...

I have it but I haven't watched it yet, heard you see Kevin Spacey/Abramoff hang a one-sheet in his office... there's more about it (though nothing we haven't read elsewhere) in the documentary released a few months prior, CASINO JACK AND THE UNITED STATES OF MONEY.

If this is any indication of what's the Synapse blu-ray cover is gonna be, check out their artwork just revealed for MANIAC COP, THE EXTERMINATOR and FRANKENHOOKER:

So I watched CASINO JACK the other night, the one-sheet poster of RED SCORPION is hanged fiercely in Abramoff/ Spacey's office and his pool house so you see it pop up out of focus in the background every 7 minutes (quite funny actually, seems like a recurrent joke to remind us that he produced it) in the first half of the movie and later there's a clear shot of him hanging that framed poster in his new office, then he says to his wife (played by Kelly "Twins" Preston) I'm a movie producer and she responds back "you only produced two Dolph Lundgren movies"! But the best reference might be when Abramoff Spacey's in a meeting to make a deal with Indians (what will be his Casino scam of millions? billions of $ ?) and says as a joke "wanna kick some ass?" and then does a Dolph impression miming loading the shotgun and say "let's kick some ass"! To which he proudly adds "that was Dolph Lundgren, not Arnold Schawarzenegger" (he was famous for doing impressions which he does several of them in the movie, including Sly)!
