By the way Li's name is missing so even it doesn't mean much at this point it's safer now to assume he's not likely to return.

What is/was the problem with Li and the whole Expendbles thing??? He seems so dismissive of the project/s. I don't think I've ever heard him mention it aside from one small snippet in an EPK. Did he not enjoy the time making it or did he not click with the cast or crew???

I'm not sure Jet Li cared in the first place apart from his paycheck, he just came in and did what he was told. He came with a big all-Chinese entourage (including his fight coordinators and stunt double) and mostly hanged out with them. Indeed he just did the mandatory EPK interview but not any other promotion or appearance (but he did use the cast for a promo of his foundation during filming). BY the way I believe Sly went to Li because Jackie Chan turned him down first.

Jackie would have been way too expensive. Having said that, I'm not sure he would have fit in with the tone of the film. Donnie Yen anybody?????

Im sure that I read somewhere that Li wasnt happy as just being used a comic side kick in the final cut, but dont quote me on that.

Regarding the synopsis: A simplicistic, politically black and white, totally backwards oriented 80's style story. Hollow vehicle for fights and explosions. Including a variation of the Damsel in Distress. Insults my intelligence and my sense for equal rights.

He did give roles to guys like Gary Daniels in the first one so I wouldn't be surprised we see more of them in the sequel.

EDIT: The writers of KUNG FU PANDA 2 wish they could have Chuck Norris for KUNG FU PANDA 3, following this and makeing the comparison with Van Damme (who's in KP2 and could well be in TE2) WorstPreviews and others now say Norris has already been approached for TE2 but I can't find a reliable source. (FYI Chuck already passed on the first EXPENDABLES according to Sly at last year's Comic Con).

Aint it Cool News reports rumors there are disagreements with Warner/Dark Castle over Thomas Jane's casting for Stallone/Walter Hill's HEADSHOT, if confirmed that may postpone filming (supposed to start June 4) and no wonder things are staggering or on hold regarding TE2 then.

You know dude, I had a funny feeling something would delay TE-2, it seemed a little soon that it was due to film in August, I hope this is not the case and that they settle the disagreement. The other option is for Stallone to ditch Headshot in favour of meeting TE-2's current deadline, but I assume he's signed a contract to star.

I don't see TE2 rolling cameras in August at this point, they need at the very least 2 months of prep and there's still no director announced. So we have to be patient!

I kinda thought that the August 2012 release date seemed a little strange considering there was no definite list of cast, much less a director, or an idea of a story... HEADSHOT will be completed, and from there TE2 will be put into production... Sly leaving HEADSHOT would be a dumb move; he hasn't had a starring role in film which he hasn't written/directed since his slump in 2002 when he stared in dtv stuff.

TE2 is gonna get off the ground one way or another, especially with Dolph attached. We may just have to wait a little while longer to see it. Sly got the comeback, which he rightfully deserved thanks to TE2. Let's let him savor it and star in some real badass stuff till TE2 goes into production...

Studios like to lock release dates for big movies before production so it's not unsual and sometimes it's a real challenge for filmmakers to make it (Cameron who had to make it for July 3 with T2 with a filming start date in October for instance), or they can still change the date. We'll see.

To my understanding Headshot is still a go for filming commencing on June 4 but Thomas Jane is no longer co -staring (thanks to Joel Silver) so unless the can get the required actor to step in a very short notice then there could be a knock on effect.

That does happen and work sometimes.

Anyway I had a thought (don't quote me on this!) that TE2 could be postponed to start pre-production late 2011 and film in the spring of 2012. I guess we'll see what happens over the summer...

Oh dear, whos feathers has Tom Jane ruffled??? Silver's is a bad idea, look what happened to Seagal after Exit Wounds.... He's lucky he got let off after the Executive Decision debacle...
