Dolph has more screen time than the other Expendables (despite being less than 6 minutes total) except Stallone and Statham.

Wow, interesting fact - and I never would have guessed! Very good that the movie grossed that much so far. This helps to secure the sequel! And I wouldn't mind seeing Dolph at least 30 minutes on screen for that installment. ;)

And $2,121,171 on Japanese opening, last week-end 8)

Sly admitted in an interview that he wished he could have given Dolph more screen time, and since he brought him on tour to do all the PR with him (and was one of people's favorite characters) I'm not worried he will have a much bigger part in the sequel (I wish they would headline a flick together but that may be just daydreaming).

A movie like Face/Off would be good for them, because not only would it allow Dolph to play a crazy villain again, what he's best at, but it would have Stallone being bad for part of the time too, so it doesn't become to predictable and cliched. Although obviously they couldn't point-blank rip-off Face/Off...

Sly's latest Tweet on his director's cut:
I think It is superior to the first release-Longer scenes, tone change, different music, less choppy, etc

Sounds like what the movie was meant to be in the first place.

Yeah to me, so many scenes felt too short, and you got the sense Sly had to deliver something around the 100 minute mark to please the distributers.

For starters, more Dolph would be great. The scene D shares with Sly alone was just brilliant, but way to short. If that gets extended, I'll be delighted.

I can't wait for the Director's Cut. I never even planned on buying the theatrical cut, I always felt that there was a better (and longer) film in there somewhere.

Yeah, this is a clear case where you don't buy the first DVD because you know the extended cut and/or special edition isn't too far behind... like with Avatar or Lord of the Rings.

Amen to that. Especially to the "less choppy". Gosh, I really have to get a BD player soon...
