That's got to be Jai White but is it just me or does VD look a bit skinny in the pic? He was pretty thick in Unisol. MJW has always been very complimentary of VD which kind of surprised me since MJW is probably a much more accomplished traditional martial artist.

Jox wrote:Still making movies apparently but he was only seen as "tank" so his career never totally took off even when he did that CONAN tv show, the VIKING SAGAS movie with Sven Thorsen, or his role in GLADIATOR...

He had a pretty good run though for a European bodybuilder turned actor. Being friends with Arnold probably helped somewhere too. Best of the Best II, Unisol, Gladiator, Conan, four movies with Uwe Boll, etc. I loved his bit with Dolph at Gold's Gym Venice in the Day In The Life documentary.

That's what I'm thinking as well (though it's hard to tell from this pic alone) but did they MJW and JC meet before UNISOL?

Oh really? I was wondering if there were TV spots on a Unisol DVD...you are talking about the DVD when mentioning the Studio Canal/Kinowelt edition...right?

The DVD special edition yes (and Blu-ray I guess but I don't own yet) same as the US edition but on two discs and with those TV spots (7 or 8) and photo gallery (+ DTS sound track I think)

ABOUT THE TWO DTV SEQUELS:
"It was a four miniseries for Showtime in the USA. The producers were hoping it would be a 'backdoor pilot' for a series. Indie Prod had yet to put together a sequel to the original film."
-- Director Jeff Woolnough

Rigel Entertainment licensed the rights from Indie Prod to do two sequels for Showtime/The Movie Channel. Indie Prod had yet to put together a sequel to the original film. Since it was to the second and third installment of the franchise the films were called Universal Soldier 2 and then 3. When the theatrical sequel was released Columbia realized they were unable to entitle the film Universal Soldier 2 due to our films and called the film Universal Soldier: The Return. The films were produced as Canadian Content movies through Catalyst Entertainment in Toronto and are distributed world-wide by Rigel.

I actually had that game and remember playing it. It's quite bizarre; it was released in the early-mid-90's when games based on films were being released by the dozens, none of which had really anything to do with the source material. :D The UniSol game was no different. The lead character (who I'm assuming is Luc) battles his way through giant spiders, floating aliens, and an assortment of bad guys, only to face the lead villain (assumably Scott), who is three times the size of the hero. This was a game purely in name only... But it certainly brings back memories...

That's because I think they licensed an already existing game to package it as UNISOL. It's was merely $20-25 million movie, not huge enough for spending much on merchandising especially designing a videogame.
