For those wondering about the status on the promising upcoming Blu-ray from Synapse Films:
"@DrDilfenstein: @synapsefilms Any details on Red Scorpion yet?" None yet. Still working on extras

Now that steelbook would be tempting, but the English track is only 2.0 vs the German 5.1 - I assume the Synapse disc will be 5.1 English?

The Clinton Street Theater is enthused about Red Scorpion because it marks the launch of its new Flattop Film Series, a program of ’80s demolition salvage. I’m excited about Red Scorpion because it is the only movie made by Jack Abramoff. The corrupt Beltway lobbyist was the producer of this 1989 Dolph Lundgren Commie-busting picture; he marshaled the project to bolster support for Angolan warlord Jonas Savimbi, and secretly obtained financing from the apartheid South African government. In other words, there are all kinds of badness here. It is unsurprising to learn that many of the actors claim they weren’t paid. Clinton Street Theater. 8 pm Wednesday, Sept. 21.

Just got my copy of the swedish blu-ray and i must say im impressed!:)
The picturie quallity looks pretty good for a movie this old and the audio is really good too:P

A bad thing is that it has no extras:(

Best on the blu-ray is the scenes outside that all looks really awesome!:P

Really hopes they release some more blu-rays of Dolphs movies!:)
My favorite Swedish dinner would be baby seal and whale ass in the summer. But I'd really die for some Chinese."

Arrow video in the UK has picked this up for Blu-ray release - presumably the same as the Synapse release, as they are releasing their Maniac Cop as well - and check out that cover!

Arrow video usually has 4 different covers, and their releases are great, they have cardboard slipcase, and usually you get a little book...

Check this out...

Brilliant, it's the same guy who did the poster art for HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN.

I'm being informed that the Synapse US edition is also getting ready, and that the "extras are AWESOME"! 8)
