To be far even some of those (ITNOTK2 Aside) are quite good but I know we are all looking towards D passion work!

Would love to see a movie written, directed and starring in by Dolph.

It could be his own "J.C.V.D.".

I should've specified, I meant more of a drama project, like J.C.V.D.

I know he can deliver action. ;)

Documentary in Southeast Asia

Does anyone know anything on Dolph's documentary on human trafficking? Will he come to the Philippines?

I'm wondering if they quoted him right: he's talking about SKIN TRADE, which has been relocated in Thailand... There might be documentary project (not by him), but that is totally unrelated.

Tony Jaa has apparently been added to the IMDB cast for this. Sounds plausible, what with Thailand and Dolph being in Jaa's movie. If so, SkinTrade just went from "excited" to "off the scale."

Haha yes, I was waiting for an official announcement to say so but indeed, Tony Jaa is signed to co-star in SKIN TRADE which is moving forward to shoot in Thailand (perfect location for the subject matter) fairly soon (possibly early next year). They did a cool advance poster that was shown at the booth of international sales agent Arclight Films in Cannes. More details to follow...

Excellent! If Dolph can keep up a steady stream of good projects after TE3 and Skin Trade shoots, that would be a step in the right direction in terms of becoming more than a DTV star. Although when you look at Van Damme and Seagal right now, he is streets ahead.

Shame on me on two points : I didn't quote the Jane / Lundgren posters that are amazing (I'm a huge fan of Thomas Jane work. seems to be a great guy as well).
And I didn't share my frickin' huge enthusiasm about the project moving to Thaïland. I won't say I can't wait, as I want him to deliver the best movie possible, so I'm not in a hurry to see the movie*.

Dolph publicly confirms SKIN TRADE with Tony Jaa for an early-2014 start on his homepage:
Finally I'll be producing SKIN TRADE in early 2014. An action thriller set in the world of human trafficking, co-starring with Thai martial arts wizard Tony Jaa. I'm really excited to get this film made, wrote the script 5 years ago!

"A great thai director..."

Well that narrows it down. Anyone?

And what's up with that crap someone quoted over at the vandamme-forum from some thai-company that insists this movie is not happening? Who are those loosers?

I'll wait for Dolph to say it or an official announcement...

That's the production/distribution company behind all Tony Jaa movies so far, including A MAN WILL RISE. Jaa has been under contract for 10 years (with either them or some mafia), one he couldn't get out of, so they might be working against this project from happening. But this deal is about to end.

Here's a revised plot posted on IMDB:
A tough NY cop, Nick (Dolph Lundgren), runs afoul of the Russian mob engaged in human trafficking, and they end up killing his wife and daughter for revenge. Determined to make them pay, he follows the kingpin to Bangkok, the hub of their activities. He teams up w/ a Thai detective, Tony Jaa, and they decide to wipe out the entire organization and terminate their business entirely.
