Yeah Brazil and Louisiana. I think Dolph will be on the Louisiana set.

do you know how long Dolph should be on set/when he might be on set??(I think filming starts in March, but not all the actors necessecarily need to be there at the same time)

Hopefully sly has given dolphs character abit bigger role..

Is filming on the Expendables pushed back?

Postby thenamesplisken on 04 Feb 2009, 01:26

noticed this on the stallonezone front page when some guy met Sly

Bill said "I told him I wanted to make sure the painting is completed before he leaves for “The Expendables” and surprisingly he said that won’t happen til July or August".

I am confused, is the filming of The Expendables delayed ? did he mis-hear Stallone? did stallone mean when the filming is done?? granted, last week there was a press release from the distributer saying how filming was startng in March...

anyone have any idea?

Yeah I heard this too..that's pretty worrying IMO. I knew it was a huge feat to pull off to get these guys together, I hope it doesn't go "tits up". If it's pushed back til August that means Dolph might stay on the US-3 set for longer, he might have also finished post production on Icarus by the time he films The Expendables. I guess we'll have to see but this isn't good news...

If filming gets pushed back, I don't mind--I want this film to be the best it can be and if Sly feels rushed, let it all slow down for a bit then. I just pray to god taht FOX isn't handling this project...

FOX? The distributors? I hope not. I hope it's Lionsgate that distribute it.

That's movie business for you, happens all the time; and the last RAMBO for instance was pushed back a lot. I think Sly and everybody are very motivated for this one so I have faith that they'll make it happen, I don't think we need to be worried yet. Honestly I was surprised by a February or March start, seemed a bit too soon. This summer date hasn't even been confirmed yet but if it is, it's a very recent change...

Okay Jox, let's hope it goes ahead. A summer 2010 release sounds good to me.

I'm not too sure that we'd be likely to get The Expendables released during the summer season - it'll probably be up against too much competition. That said, though, it would be cool to see Sly, Dolph et al take on the almighty summer blockbusters! :)

That doesn't mean anything, if the prep is done correctly he's still scouting now to start in the summer, or till have a few locations to find at the last minute... let's just wait for real info.

Van Damme talks Stallone's The ExpendablesJCVD explains why
he didn't take the partBY Chris Hicks Feb 5th 2009 12:12PMFILED UNDER: Movie newsBe the first to comment

Jean-Claude Van Damme has spoken to totalfilm.com about why he turned down a part in Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables, claiming Stallone was just interested in pitching money and action.

“Stallone gave me a part in his next movie," he told us. "But I ask him about the subject, about the story."

"He said, ‘You’re gonna make lots of money.’ I don’t want to hear that, I want to hear what was my character. He was unable to tell what it’s going to be."

"[Stallone said:] 'You know, uh, well, the fighting will be good.' [So I said:] 'Sly, what is my character?' So I didn’t do the movie."

To see the full three-page interview, see the latest issue of Total Film Magazine.

soundes like a load of BS to me......are we really supposed to believe that stallone didnt give van damme a rundown on the character?? do we really think hes roped these people into the movie without telling them who theyd play?? I doubt it...I mean people who are trying out for small roles are getting the script...plus im sure sly is/was re-writing parts to fit the nuances of the new cast/making them longer...

either way, im glad that Dolph got it instead....I cant picture Van damme playing the role of Gunnar Jensen....sounds like an "andrew scott" type of role and dolph would play that perfectly....

Absolutely! I've been waiting for an Andrew Scott reprise for decades. Do I have to say "supermarket"? Ahhh... can't wait to see this one.

I suspect Van Damme is talking BS. Wouldn't be the first time.

I wonder if dolph will be filming on the Brazil set....I know he has 3 major action scenes in the first draft...

I would guess the scenes where they "round up" the expendables will be shot in Louisiana...although there are also action scenes in cars, planes, boat...
