Aside from his singing, Dolphage treated us with the heavy-metal edition of the CP promo:

He he, I'm not upset at all, just a translation of your signature :)

Thanks! :) Yeah, it kinda sums up the blog quite well I think! Luigi is not my real name, though I wish my mother would have given me that italian name instead of my swedish name!

I'm kinda new here, but have you done voiceovers for some movies before? And the new user Anji-san who runs the blog with me speaks japanese, so maybe he can do a japanese voiceover for Icarus :D I'll have to ask him!

Yeah I know you were just translating it, I just wanted to make a (bad) joke.

Well, it´s not a secret that my real name is James Philip wich is, you know, pretty unusal for a Swede. I would have prefered Jack Blade, John Slaughter or Mike Strenght, but what are you gonna do?

I´ve already told my mom that my first born child is gonna be called "Dolph" no matter what sex it is. She wasn´t happy (but my brother high fived me).

And i HAVE done a little bit of voice over work over the years, yes. But I´ve never tried to make a career out of it. If I find any of it on the web I´ll link to it (might be funny).

I will post a link to me singing in the Off Topic thread, right now (wich is where all of this really belongs, sorry Joxie)

That's what I thought as well, he really has a passion for realism and violence, he knows what the fans want to see. I'm also glad that he has been thinking about what CP, Icarus and TE can do for his career, as I said I too was thinking about that on the bus the other day and wondered if it had crossed Dolph's mind. Whatever the offers he gets after The Expendables I hope he considers them very carefully. There is still time for Dolph to be bigger.

Offers don't mean they're good though because actually the more you attract attention and the more you attract low end projects and producers who just want to take advantage of the heat... So we'll see.

Yeah that's what I meant when I said I hope he considers them carefully because he doesn't want to just accept any old role in any old shitpile. Only the best for Dolph. Just don't turn down anything you might regret, although I think I can guarantee Dolph knows what he is doing.

Woohoo!

The big guy answered my question about whether it's comparable to 'History of Violence'! I've almost kind of spoken to Dolph Lundgren!!!

But then he goes and raises my hopes for 'Icarus' even higher by mentioning 'Le Samourai' - has he been reading my list of favourite movies??? I'm telling you, if he then goes on to say that it's strongly influenced by the likes of 'The Seven Samurai' and 'King Kong' I might get too excited.

Another good one from Dolph!
I like hearing him talk about film in general because he really seems to know what he is talking about and he seems confident as a filmmaker.
I laughed when he started talking about the violence. Badass!

Wow that was a good interview! Finally one that has totally different questions and answers, not the same stuff that you read/hear again and again in all the "mainstream" interviews. And also a nice setting, natural. Almost as you would share a garden table with him and chat a little about his projects and movies in general. Very nice!

But you can tell that Dolph is a pro... he knows how to keep up tension. Why else would he read out that qestion about his year of birth and then DON'T ANSWER IT? (AGAIN!) Both hilarious and upsetting at the same time. ;-) HELL WOULD YOU PLEASE CONFIRM YOURSELF ON CAMERA? PULEEEAAAAAZE!? ;-)

(And I'm gonna hit myself now that I didn't send a question. *sigh*)

Thanks Dolph for taking the time doing an interview just for the little "hard core" fan base! May not be watched by as many people as the usual PR stuff on bigger sites but I'm sure it will be appreciated!

A bit more behind the scenes with tidbits by actress Samantha Ferris.

http://blog.movieset.com/2009/04/29/ica ... scenes-29/

I also see that I managed to take everybody by storm with making people aware of the Dolph fest (if I didn't get my nose in there it would have gone unnoticed I'm sure just like the upcoming "Back to the Future" night; and too bad they try to make their video blog look like a mainstream entertainment show, these dudes are nice but kind of gimmickly annoying and not remotely funny, just my two cents)

Re: ICARUS teaser trailer!!!

Great!! Fast, action packed and surprising!! Only thing is I didn't see any explosions, which doesn't make it a bad movie, just commenting. And it looked like a TV movie in some parts... :(

A very early teaser, so there's gonna be a lot of post-polish on it (you would hope anyway). But I did worry about the film being shot in HD. I'm not a fan to be honest. I much prefer film. It does look kind of badass, but also a little bit rushed too. Shame that the production wasn't better really, given the ideas Dolph wanted.

It does look pretty cheap though, but hopefully they've kept back much of the action. I'm hoping for some explosions and maybe a car chase. Still, it's only a teaser, and it definitely teased. Cool end shot too.
