it's a disaster and painful to know that he has to do 12 episodes

Is Dolph still fiming this? Did you Jox ask Dolph about what he thinks about it?

Now I have a doubt whether or not the season will be 13 or 20 episodes. They'd be capable of having Dolph's character leave and come back after a 7 episodes leave of absence...

Sorry to have not seen that before : It happens less and less like that nowadays. The last few years we've seen lots of tv show where action and/or drama was increasing during the season, and therefore where all was not put in the season premiere. I have in mind the development of the strategy "red son" (we call that "fils rouge" in French, how to translated that in English, jox ?) where the heroes of the show stalk an enemies throughout the season example : the character of Christopher Pelant on "Bones"

Well, it can work on shows like Bones or Dexter. Here, I don't see the writer scratching their head to set up an inquiry on who is responsible for the fire killing the "spiritual father" on the team, or setting up an interesting plot. They want to show beautiful bodies, nice landscapes (from the first two episodes, they don't event emphasize on the landscapes) and sea shores. I don't even think action or plots are what they want to share.

It won't make things move or change anything, but it would have been cleat that the show wouldn't have been a good one.
Obviously, Dolph won't get interesting part on a long term in a show anytime soon. If he has to aim something, it's more a middle range show like "L&O" stuff (SVU for example, I would love to see him in something like that) than a high quality show (quite impossible to see him in a Breaking Bad, Longmire or Deadwood kind of stuff).
I think he can have ambition on movies where it's "easier" (understand me) to make an interesting project, than on TV where shows are made to serve commercials, not the other way around ;)

EDIT : here I want to say that I don't criticize Dolph's choices. I think it's not easy to make choices taking all the "factors" to take into account. I respect what he does, even if sometimes I don't like what he does ;)

Well I think he already wants to put the show behind him and forget it.

NO MORE

";"

Not sure what Tai Collins means by that, if the show will be taken off the air or if it has nothing to do with it...

Perhaps it could be the end...? Perhaps this is not getting picked up for a second season, or perhaps they're cancelling this mid-way through the season. Don't get me wrong... It's always a little sad to see a show get the axe early on, but when it's something as lame as this, there's a slight part of me that gets a little happy reading this news. If this is the case, Dolph can move on and focus on better projects with a little more talent behind them.

Of course, maybe we're reading too much into this posting, and it means nothing at all... But yeah... the show is not getting any better by the episode, that's for sure. And I can't imagine it's doing very well ratings-wise...

It's one of the worst things I've seen on TV. It's the sort of thing even Lorenzo Lamas would turn his nose up at. If they canned it now after a couple of episodes, I wouldn't be at all surprised. I would hope it just goes by completely unnoticed so Dolph doesn't get too negatively affected.

The first episode was so unbearable that I'm a little hesitant to check out the second episode, but I guess I must.

I don't see them canceling it mid season, since I would imagine they pre-sold the entire first season for syndication worldwide based on the concept and Dolph's name alone, so they probably have all the episodes financed allready, even though the talks about $1.5M episode budget were obviously BS, and the producers tried to unsuccesfully raise $500,000 on IndieGoGo. Their goal was apparently to get enough chiropractors to donate and they would write a chiropractor character into the show, they only raised $94,000.
Maybe they are strapped for cash?

They certainly don't have much production value, the first episode took place at the lifeguards' headquarters, in the woods and on a beach, I guess the scenery is nice, but it's not going to cut it if their idea of "action and suspense" is three guys dressed as firefighters walking around the woods for 20 minutes, the only indication of fire being some light fog from a smoke machine, cut to mother on the beach going "You'll be alright honey, don't worry" over and over again for 10 minutes cut to Dolph yelling Dunnigan for another 10 minutes.

I certainly don't see this getting enough viewers in syndication to justify a second season, but then again, they seem to be cranking out the episodes super cheaply, so maybe they'll be able to keep selling the episodes to third rate cable channels for afternoon filler between the infomercials.

I would like to see Dolph doing TV, but NOT this.

I'm only worried, if this bombs and gets cancelled, will Dolph be viewed as "TV ratings poison" for possible future TV producers? Or will the crappy show take most of the blame?

And while it was sold on Dolph's name, it really doesn't appear to be HIS show. He doesn't even appear to be the leader of the group, but mroe or less one of the faces. Producers clearly didn't know how to properly utilize him. He seems to be fairly "expendable" (pardon the pun), and the show would work perfectly fine without him.

You're correct in the production value comment though. And you're forgetting the completely pointless "suiting up" montage where the titles music is played once again 20 minutes into the show... Ugh. Talk about filler...

This part reminded me of all those tokusatsus from the 80(s and the 90's.
