I thought they cut it down, but now I have a doubt if there won't be a 7 episodes gap where he leaves and then comes back... I can totally see them have the guys who's doing all the promo for the show be in charge for the time D was on EX3... :?

I don't know, I have a hard time believing any of those other cast members can yell "Dunnigan!!!!" as well as Lundgren.

They sure can't do anything as well, you know a few of them don't have any acting credits before this?! And even some of those who do, well... Granted, the dialogs are lame and none-sensical and they' probably aren't well directed either...

Watching ep. 4 of this show and honestly I didn't expect it to be "this" bad. Dolph should request to be killed off asap.

I looked up the opening. I don't think it's that bad and the song is kind of cool. Dolph looks good in it.

The only thing I can think of why Dolph is doing this series is that he's using the producers of SAF3 connections to help get some funding for some of his other projects...I hope!

I wouldn't do that because they sucked even at raising decent money to shoot each episode.

Last year when Dolph signed on, he thought that was a good move as the DTV market was going down and he was also tired of playing the same tough action characters over and over. It was supposed to be shot in North Carolina which would have allowed him to get a place in NYC and have kinda of routine "day job" (had the shoot been longer). But things didn't go as he hoped and now he's stuck finishing the season.

I also suspect they had better scripts back then (I doubt D would have signed on such a thin pilot), absent writers Jim & John Thomas were initially announced as writers and co-producers: they likely took the door or were fired, Tai Collins & Greg Bonnan likely rewriting all in a rush. Sometimes TV people can be worse than in movies, it's like this TV couple who wrote THE LAST PATROL and were such ego maniacs they wouldn't let anyone touch their dialogues. It's likely the same kinda deal that's happening here, mixed with some of the stuff that happened on ICARUS.

I thought we covered that in the topic but basically he fought with the producers big time, because they were sabotaging his work, and basically taking over and thinking they knew better. An excruciating experience, even on a personal level because one of them really was a terrible person apparently...

He summed it up right here:
http://www.filmforum.se/artiklar/interv ... 52399.html

rough translation for non Swedish-speakers:
Q: What can we expect from your next directorial effort Icarus? Rumours have it that the producers made it difficult for you... (Dolph wanted to play the bad guy but the producers didn't let him, the script was rewritten and the film recut without his involvement)
A: Those motherfuckers messed everything up from the beginning. I shouldn't have done that film. It's not my work, it's not my cut. But the film after that! Then I'll show everything I've learned, hopefully with a bigger budget than usual!

Jox, do you know if Dolph is contractually obligated to film a second season if (and that's a big IF) SAF3 is picked up again? Or can he respectfully bow out and work on other projects?

After seeing episode 4, I feel it's a little bit better, not much, but a bit. There are some really ridiculous scenes of course,we have to get used to that. But the music is not entirely bad, if you're going to say somthing posetiv.

Still hoping for a miracle that could save the show, or preferably shut it down.
