New piece about the behind the scenes turmoil. I didn't know Sharlto Copley was to be part of this.

Seeing Dolph and Henry Cavill do epic fantasy battle would've been a dream, but much like Dolph (and Henry's) time at DC things were derailed by egomaniacal idiots. I'll still watch this since it's always nice to see Dolph in a major studio production and hopefully if it does well enough Netflix could extend him some other opportunities.

Shame that it was dumped with such little fanfare. Hopefully it does good streaming numbers for Netflix though. Great look for Dolph, interesting seeing him in something with a bigger budget.

I saw it last night, with no expectations and no affinities with the show, and it was a good surprise, especially for Dolph, who is well filmed, well directed, and delivers a great, moving performance (not to mention he has a prominent role, not just a supporting one).

His character arc is also pretty good and has some good moments with "the Rats", one in particular. There's some decent production value, the South African lighting and landscapes are welcome (and looks better than the dark tones of the series), and the score is pretty good too.

It's just the beginning / the first act that seems a bit messy, choppy and takes a while to take you in... (plus an unnecessary connection with season 4 that was added probably later in the process)

Worth a watch even if just for Dolph.

It seems to me that just because it was released out of nowhere with no promotion, people have that preconception that it's terrible and go into it with their mind already made up... At the same time, I didn't have the main show to compare it with since I've never watched any of it...

I have. I don't know anyhting about the Witcher (except the productions troubles). This Rats has his ups and downs : you go from a lavish South African landscape with big sets to exposition scene shot in a cheap soundstage, which smelled like production issues. It was a delight to see Dolph having some cheawable moments, cool acting and a cool character plot. I also loved that he had (although limited) time with Sharlto Copley, a very fun actor. Wouldn't mind seeing them again in another project :)
Cool music, the rest of the cast is a bit annoying to me (but mostly because of its tv show dynamics that isn't my thing). Decently shot and edited, even though we feel production issues at times. Anyway, better than any Dolph support part when the main actor is also a producer who used to work in real estate (or something like that  )
