True, but I always thought the idea of the Universal Soldiers was as close to that of a Terminator as Carolco could get without receiving a lawsuit from James Cameron in the post ;)

Rough translation from Russian...

1. «Universal soldier: The New Generation»

Expectations of the leader - continuing the legendary «Universal Soldier». Andrew Scott and brother-in-law Luc returned! Since culminating in Bulgaria shooting a few months, but information on the picture is not added, although some interesting facts, however, there is.

The main newsmakers made Dolf Lundgren, in a recent interview slightly facts about his participation in the film. Unfortunately, the fears were confirmed: the Dolfa really quite a small cameo. However, he noted that it was a pleasure and seventeen years later, reunited with Van Damme, and a planned movie tough and bloody. Apparently, the main character in the film have become the representatives of MMA - Belarusian fighter Andrei Arlovsky and least known Mike Pyle.

Studio Sony has still not determined with the rental of the picture. Walked the talk, that if a satisfactory response to the test views, the film may be limited to the rental rooms 600-800. Apparently, the issue becomes clearer only after the trailer.

Great picture, can't wait for this movie. I am eagerly anticipating Dolph's performance but it's also to see JC in action again who has been disappointing in that aspect recently. Impressed with what I've seen in some of the photos, especially this one because it looks more sci-fi orientated, whereas the pictures with random soldiers walking through a factory looked to me more like a cheap military actioner.

Word is this is gonna come out sometime in the first quarter of 2010 as expected.

Here is a slightly updated plot:
When a team of former Soviet radicals seizes Chernobyl and threatens to unleash a lethal cloud of radioactive gas one hundred times deadlier than Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined, the US military brings in a bio-mechanically enhanced super soldier, Luc Deveraux (JEAN-CLAUDE VAN DAMME), to foil the plot. As Deveraux fights his way into the plant, he faces off with his now revived former nemesis, Andrew Scott (DOLPH LUNDGREN), and a newly ‘updated’ Next Generation Unisol (former UFC Heavyweight Champion ANDREI ARLOVSKI), in a battle of battles, and must save the day.

From Twitch Reflex on the chud forum
Guys, for the past week or so in the edit room, we've been hearing sounds of action in the nearby mixing room. Imagine hearing twenty minutes of fists hitting, then an hour of guns being fired, followed by sounds of car chases. Turns out it's Universal Soldier 3!
Had I known, I would have tried to sneak a look, but as of now we're knee deep in delivering our own film. Even if Universal Soldier 3 sucks, it's going to have a kickass sound mix.

Heard somewhere it might be getting a cinema release I hope so Van Damme and Dolph are by far the 2 best action stars out there,They should have worked 2gether more in the past when they were younger

Actually UNISOL III was secretly (not in festival's schedule) screened at the Austin Fantastic fest! 8)
Also present were director John Hyams and co-star Andrei Arlovski

Dolph has more than one scene (but don't expect too many either). I think his appearance should be similar in length to the JOHNNY MNEMONIC final cut except for the final fight which should be relatively long (several rooms and locations, enough to have it run 5 to 10mins maybe)...
