Looks like we'll have the "daily news" soon from the TE set, will you be going for a visit at any point Jox or is it too early to say or hush hush?

I know Jet Li appears to only be filming in China, so perhaps he is killed in the opening or is just in for the final battle. If it was me, I would have kept Li, Couture and Crews mostly for the final battle and focused the plot and actual "unravelling" around Sly, Stath, Arnie, Bruce and Van Damme. I genuinely have no idea what they are going to do with Dolph's character, whether they keep him in status quo or send him off the rails again. Either way, I think we need to see a new character arc for him.

Right on Nathan, totally agree!

Too early to say, I have no idea at this point.

Sounds good, I think they will go one better with the guns in this one. Dolph had odd weapons for a sniper in the first, a Serbu Super Shorty shotgun and an M79 Grenade Launcher? Tiny weapons for a huge guy, maybe it was part of the joke.

According to Visual FX supervisor Scott Coulter, Simon West had arrived in Bulgaria for scouting and prepping in early July

This week starts pre-production on the action sequel. Simon arrived last weekend, but he has been scouting all week. So no chance to sit down and go over his requirements. We did met with the production designer today. Reviewed a bunch of locations and set pieces….
And a new one begins.

Yeah for sure, especially since this second opus seems like it's gonna be crowded (add JCVD, Chuck Norris, Scott Adkins, likely Nicolas Cage and some John Travolta, plus more Arnold and Willis...)

The overcrowding can be easily solved by having the actors appearing in groupings throughout to play off each other. Doesn't have to be the exact same pairings each scene. Just don't do what they did in the first movie where they had Stallone doing his solo stuff and Statham doing his solo stuff and then the rest of the team appearing here and there to help out. Dolph's role was only five minutes long. Couture and Crews didn't even register on screen other than Crews' gun scene. Hell, the skit Lundgren, Crews and Couture did on Jimmy Kimmel was probably longer than the time they were individually on the screen in the first movie.

Couldn't agree more. As much as I loved the first one, there were just too many characters to donate enough character development. Plus Statham was given way too much screen time compared to all the others... With all of the new characters being added in, let's hope this go round we get what we missed the first time... Perhaps, they only drift in for a brief cameo (maybe Jet Li is now finally with his "family"), or hate to say it, killed off early on, giving the team a real personal vendetta.

Take into account that the theatrical cut didn't do anybody justice (except Sly and Statham) by slashing the others performances away. The script never read as being unbalanced like the film ended up. The director's cut should feel a lot smoother in that sense.
