I caught it on movie network. Actually it was kinda by accident was looking through the channel preview and saw the name on screen. Anyways possible spoilers ahead

I enjoyed it. I probably would have enjoyed it more if Dolph could have played it the way he wanted. I don't know what it is but I so want Dolph to play bad guys more often. Would be good for him from an acting point of view 'cause he can pretty much do what he wants as a bad guy. Yeah he's an assassin that kills people but he is still sympathized 'cause of his ex-wife and kid and he just wants to get away from the whole thing. It's ok but still being a bad guy would be better.

I apologize for not remembering things I should have done this earlier. I liked the scenes especially the shoot-out at the farm. (SPOILER) The twist half way through involving Kerr (SPOILER) wich took place at the farm was predictable but as I said it led to a good shoot-out.

This next paragraph is pretty much a spoiler so skip ahead if you don't want ANY of the movie ruined. One complaint I did have with the movie is when Icarus gets his wife and her current boyfriend to leave with him and they meet up with cops. I could tell they were gonna be bad guys when they showed up but did they have to make it so obvious by having silencers on their guns??? Also who the hell gets a gun with a silencer pointed at there head by a cop and still think everything is alright?? I really didn't feel sorry for the boyfriend getting shot after that scene.

Well that's all I can remember. One question I do have...is there any spoiler tags I can use when typing this stuff up? I can't really see any box to push or check that says spoiler. I might be blind. I'm one of those people that really doesn't like anything spoiled no mateer how much I wanna know and I don't wanna do that to others. It was an enjoyable movie with lots of guns including a shogun Dolph uses wich I thought looked cool.

Anyways thanks for your time.

Thanks for your review acanuckfan!
I don't think there is any spoiler function as far as I know, but you can use the white font color like I just did to hide the spoilers.

Thanks for the tip. I figured that I wasn't revealing anything big but I just didn't want to ruin anything for anyone. Does anyone have an idea on when the movie is coming out on dvd in north america? Looks like this is ANOTHER Dolph movie I'm gonna be patiently waiting for.

Good news and bad news about the upcoming German edition...

Bad news is that it's pushed back to April 29th for retail (rental March 30th).

Good news is that it's UNCUT (which by German standards is pretty good since CP wasn't for instance)...

Hmpf... I can still rent it on my birthday then... is this DVD or Bluray, too?

The uncut thingie is indeed good news and indicates that the movie can't be too bloody. I wouldn't even think of spending money for the German editions of Red Scorpion or Men of War or almost every other Dolph film. So I guess it's more the "cold violence" type, if you know what I mean?

I know the MPAA is not really trustworthy but being rated R for "strong bloody violence" should mean what it means doesn't it?

Regarding extras, that's to be confirmed but according to Cinefacts.de, the German edition shall include a MAKING OF and STILL GALLERY and possibly the trailer. (I just hope they don't screw up the aspect ratio as it's stated everywhere in 1.78)

From 'Numan' on VD forum:
I just saw "Icarus" - and it is pretty good. The plot is a bit thin but the action is well done and very bloody. Well-made shoutouts that reminded me of some older Hongkong movies.

The trailer in correct aspect ratio!

Was Icarus shown in what channel in Canada and why??

Was it really that bad that it was shown on TV instead of being released on DVD??

I believe it was shown on Movie Central up here as a promotional thing.... not sure when the dvd release is but it can't be that far off.

It was aired as a TV premiere exclusive on cable, nothing extraordinary or worse than DVD and nothing to do with the quality of the film. It's on again today actually.

The trailer looks really good. Hopefully we will get a release in the US soon too. I won't even hope for any special on cable here. Even if it did, I can bet it wouldn't be on Time Warner Cable anyway.

But...isn’t that kind of stupid...especially today!? I mean...anybody with DVD recorder could of record the movie from TV and then released it on the Internet so that people can download it!? :?

What's the difference whether people leak it from a DVD or TV? But nobody did it so far.
