It always seemed to me that they did the promo photo shoot in front of a backdrop that's supposed to evoke or was part of the sewers set.

I agree. I think that was the idea, but to me, you can clearly see that it's the Punisher standing in front of a backdrop. Dolph looks awesome in the shots, though.

Here are the visuals of the upcoming French single and 3-discs DVD edition (which will contain the workprint and gag reel, but NOT the audio commentary by Mark Goldlblatt).

(personally I don't think this represents the film or the comic well and feels a bit amateurish)

About the NSM 3-discs mediabook released last month

The booklet design inside looks better than the 2013 Koch Media edition (both the discs and text have the same content though):

Another "unboxing" video of the limited NSM edition

I need your help!
Have you heard any known director (or actor) who expressed his love or appreciation for the movie?
(apart from Quentin Tarantino)

For those interested in university essays, I just found this one:

On this day 26 years ago I was seeing it for the first time (before going back three other times) on the big screen.

8 months ago, I started working on a thorough and in-depth behind the scenes booklet (which was more like a book already) for an upcoming French DVD/Blu-ray edition. I worked my ass off for three months before stepping out of the project after falling out with the "distributor" releasing it.

Now, I'm currently putting the final touches to my text for the first edition that should result from it in another form of publication than originally planned and despite the previously chaotic circumstances...
"How do you call 125 murders in five years? Work in progress".

Can somebody spot the CANNIBAL FEROX reference that's supposed to be somewhere in the film under its alternate title MAKE THEM DIE SLOWLY? :?:

I can't find it even on the workprint, but it may be on the main credit sequence montage of archives...

EDIT:
There is indeed a vintage photo of a cinema marquee showing the film during the main titles montage (see below)

Beware this is a spoof article (as if internet rumors and urband legends weren't enough)

5 ‘Friday The 13ths’ That Almost Were! JASON VS. THE PUNISHER

(before I got it it was supposed to be funny ( ), I emailed Sean Cunningham himself who blantly responded: "Never heard of it.")
