Sounds about fair. IMHO this is a HORRIBLE movie, I couldn't even sit through it in one sitting without having to pause and find something more interesting - like the weather forecast. It's right down there with 90s dreck like 'Retrograde'. Sorry Big D - Big mistake.

It´s bad. But not THAT bad. It´s non-stop action done poorly, but it´s still non-stop action! "Retrograde"? I don´t know... It´s not nearly as boring as Retrograde. It´s more like The Peacekeeper in overall quality. Maybe a little worse.

Having said that it´s not worthy of Dolph Lundgren, I TRULY hope that DL doesn´t loose control over his carrer again.

It's pretty horrible, but at least because of the all out action, it's not as boring as stuff like Retrograde or Agent Red. The acting is some of the most horrendous in Dolph's flicks too. Dolph seems bored too.

With a few beers, it's at least laughably bad. Clearly though, Dolph was more concerned with CP. That looks like it should deliver on pure 80's fun action. 8)

Hm, do you really think? I mean, it's not even close to stuff like MoW and such but I don't think it's as bad as you guys write.

@Billie: I think I actually have never seen Michael Paré before but first thing that I noticed was his very pleasant voice. Very warm and friendly. Couldn't believe that the guy actually resides in the drawer "action man".

I haven't seen this movie yet waiting for it's release here June 16, but from what i've seen in the trailer looks entertaining non stop action, I really like Bridge of Dragons alot even though it has some cheesy action scenes and cheesy costumes.

Is the action in direct contact be worse than bridge of dragons??

I don't know you might think otherwise when you look back after a few viewing and a couple of years. The problem is what's bad in it is so unforgiveable it drags everything else down with it although it has lots of good things I like about it and wanted to like but then again it's kinda wasted.

I'm very torn about it though because I will also always have a fond memory of my visit on the shoot...

BTW Michael Paré is a real nice guy and he's not just involved in action movies.

I agree that it could have used a few sharks from one of the directors other films.

I still found Direct Contact to be a guilty pleasure though.

Wow, that actually makes the movie look worthwhile! I was insistant on renting it this tuesday and then watched a clip on joblo, which had some of the worst editing I've ever seen in a Dolph movie. I then decided not to watch it, but the death of Michael Pare suddenly has me begging for lots more! ooooooooo!

I watched almost all of Michael Paré's movies and unfortunately the voice he has in Direct Contact is the one I really don't like!He already had great voices-for example Marco Kröger,Thomas Vogt or the best voice until now-Thomas Nero Wolff!

Dolph's voice is really nice chosen!I like that one a lot.I think, the choice of the german voice is very important. Is it the wrong voice, the movie can be ruined.Tht's why I sometimes prefer the original version.

Wow,great trailer!And seeing,how it ends for Paré was really interesting.So I know,what I have to expect! :D

I'm so looking forward to that movie, especially I'm so curious to see the fight scene between Lundgren and Paré!I'm sure, that scene will be great!

Billie, I was referring to Michael Pare's real voice, not the dubbed one. The Thai DVD doesn't have German sound I guess. Dolph has such a nice voice, I wouldn't want to watch a dubbed version.

That's the best thing about DVDs compared to the old VHS times: You get to choose the language. Rember that Red Scorpion debacle? I still wonder who hired a guy who must have been at least twice as old as Dolph when they dubbed that.

I like Pare's voice now more than before--especially when he had that ATROCIOUS acting in Streets of Fire.
