COMMAND PERFORMANCE trailer HEAVY VERSION (fan-made)

Postby dolphage on 05 Mar 2009, 21:44

I made this for all the Dolphamaniacs on this forum AND as a tribute to the great man himself!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18p7-tUc_LU

The footage is from the original trailer but I´ve changed some things and cut it slightly different.

My version:

-1 minute long (2 mins shorter than the original)
-A much heavier song (the original is a little to "middle of the road", imo)
- FULL of original taglines (from THIS forum. I couldn´t get all your taglines in there, but there are quite a few) all spoken in the classic movie voice/previews guy style

It is toungue in cheek, of course, but it´s still awesome!

I hope noone makes me take it down

Don´t ruin the surprise, man. I was gonna lie and say I hired som guy to do the voice over! haha. No it´s my (not very) famous voice. I made the song to. Awesome trailer, right? It´s funny AND good (great combination)

That was a pretty awesome trailer! Oh, and thanks for using my tagline! (Right near the beginning even!)

Thank you.
All you really NEED is Windows Movie Maker. It´s a very basic film editing program. I have Sony Vegas Pro, but it´s not free (at all).

You could make a nice tribute on Windows Movie Maker, I think. Good Luck

Great work! I think yours might even be better than the original trailer. ;-)

Which NOT a trailer initially, and therefore was not edited as such. (the title cards are misleading and were only added later)

EDIT: it's a promo reel (those are rare to be made public) that if it wasn't for Dolph would have remained confidential to industry peoples

It IS the original promotion trailer. I´ve chopped out a middle chunk so that it opens with the bad guys walking in the corridor (to set up the conflict) and ends with the guitar fight (for a climax) and I´ve made two more cuts to add Dolph hitting the cymbals (to finish the trailer off) and to tighten the Command Performance title card.

Trying to re´cut that promo into a "real" trailer is impossible, no cut in it is longer than one second!

But, since the cutting pace is so frantic, I used a heavier, instrumental song to fit with that level of energy.

The key thing, for me, was just to get to say all those tag lines! THey are all awesome. However, most of them are probably a little TOO awesome to ever be used in a "serious" trailer (My own: "Dolph fckng Lundgren is back!" line would probably run into some resistance for example!). But a few of them are defintely just right to be immortal trailer tag lines!
