This production listing isn't necessarily proof of anything release wise thought it's good indication and I think there's gonna be plenty DTV movies in 3D next year, with Nu Image's SPIDERS 3D etc. I still haven't seen one movie in 3D haha!

While I wish Dolph wouldn't willingly make an Uwe Boll film, believe it or not this isn't necessarily a step down for him. This isn't exactly Ben Kingsley in BloodRayne.

Dolph has made a lot of bad straight-to-DVD movies with a lot of bad directors before. This will just be another one of them, only his paycheck will probably be significantly better. So taking this obvious paycheck job won't hurt him one bit.

What's disappointing is that this is his follow-up to The Expendables. Granted, it's not like he'd suddenly be getting the kind of scripts that Russell Crowe and Liam Neeson receive, but maybe he'd be getting the type of supporting roles Tom Sizemore and Michael Madsen used to get in their prime.

Hopefully TE2 will allow him to get those scripts to come his way.. depending on the amount of screen time he receives... which I would imagine would have to be increased. Jensen was the most popular of the crew from what I've been reading and hearing.

The first film is supposedly pretty bad (especially for $50-60 million flick), but this one will have almost nothing to do with the original apparently, so who cares since it doesn't seem to respect the continuity or the video game it's initially loosely based on...

The first one was considered "bad" because the casting of the film was wayyyyy off the mark. I mean Burt Reynolds as a King? That right there should have clued people in on the seriousness of the film itself. Boll actually tried to force humor into a film that was unintentionally funny on it's own already.

The combat scenes alone weren't half bad and I suspect (or at least hope) that Boll manages to focus more on the combat in this sequel and less on trying to screw with the story/dialogue. His worst films are when he tends to get away from what he's good at.

The first film was horrible. Matthew Lillard gives possibly the worst performance in the history of acting since time began. Since the first caveman decided to do an impromptu impression of another, to the present, there has literally not been anything worse. He's fucking horrible. That's almost par for the course with that guy (outside of Scream) but he was extra craptastic in Dungeon Siege.

Burt Reynolds pushed him close though. Ray Liotta was hammier than a pig farm!

If Uwe Boll is making the film, you already know it's going to be bad on all levels from the script up.

But when it came to the big budget movies that actually appeared in theaters (which he's no longer allowed to make), casting was never his concern. His idea is to wait until the last minute to cast, because he could find some name actors who aren't working that he could throw money at (meaning actors who are willing to slum it for a paycheck or actors who don't get much work anymore). Doesn't matter if they're right or wrong for the role or the movie, Michael Madsen, Tara Reid and Ray Liotta were going to be in them one way or another.

As long as I get to see Dolph in armor swinging around a giant sword then Uwe can screw this movie five ways to sunday and I'll still shelve out the money for it!

Apparently he's got a Philippine knife fight in it.

You can believe that sh*t! Even swinging around a tiny Philippino knife would do it for me

Let's face it, it's gonna be pretty bad. But, still, The Dolph is The Dolph (is The Dolph). I'm gonna buy this movie and cherish it like a new born baby anyway.
