The movie is complete at last (too bad there is no 5.1 sound but looks like we can't have everything) and I am starting to gather all information available about "Joshua Tree" for fan commentary. Any help appreciated :) (but all of it must be based on reliable sources). Also - any hi-res pictures/photos which may be used for DVD cover and menu would be welcomed :)

There are a couple of articles on the site, what other info do you need?

Here is a cover I've made

To what DvD does this image belong 2.35:1?

Thank you.

This is combined from French 2.35:1 DVD (first 12 seconds and last 4) and reframed image from US Artisan 4:3 DVD (the rest of it).

I wish Vic will be able to recut this movie on day, this is movie had so much potential but anyway desirved a worldwide theatrical release in 92.

I don't think he needs to re-cut it. It did have a worldwide theatrical release...except in the US, UK, and Germany... What's mostly a shame is that distributors didn't give it much of a chance and it didn't profit from Dolph's praise for his "first comeback" with UNIVERSAL SOLDIER.

I'm surprised as well that after the success of Universal Soldier in '92 that Dolph didn't get another shot at a theatrical release... Maybe not with Joshua Tree/Army of One, but with one of his others. Granted, Johnny Mnemonic came, but that was over three years later in a small, somewhat condensed role. Army of One wasn't that great, but was still good, with a fine performance from Dolph. I coulda seen this one in the theatres...

Yeah and more so how come he didn't get offers from major studios and producers? Van Damme attracted Columbia, then Universal... Dolph always had to deal with independents.

Ahhh I did the same merge last year some time. There were quite a few micro-cuts I had to make to get the sound to synch up well. Can't remember if I had 2.0 or 5.1 sound in the end.

There is no 5.1 track on those DVDs so I suppose 2.0.

Yes, same problem here.

Even after converting audio from 23.976 to 25 fps there were some sync problems especially in second half of the movie, so I did some 2-3 frame long cuts in audio track. They are practically unnoticeable.

Vic Armostrong said that he really wants his own director's cut to be made from a masterprint.
