Just watched it all last night for the first time. Its pretty good actually!
The only thing they did not explain is how Dolph's character came back to life?

Cloning. Doesn't explain his memories, but that's a conceit they like to do, such as when shapeshifters can also shift clothing.

Oh right, thanks for your reply!

I think they wasted his character a bit, could have done more. But apart from that, its a pretty good film.

For what they could do with a cameo and 5 days to shoot I think they made the most out of it and Dolph managed to steal the show with a great acting performance. It was tricky because at first he didn't like the initial script at all and turned down the producers several times, then they hired John Hyams to direct and his vision and enthusiasm made D changed his mind and the first thing they did is rewrite his character, but at that point they knew he would have a limited time window to film it because he was already committed, prepping ICARUS and doing THE EXPENDABLES right after.

Oh right, I didn't know that. Yeah, I agree, his performance was a show stealer. The first Universal Soldier was a an excellent performance, loads of quotable lines, and a brilliant performance.
I think he should p;ay more villian roles.
