I don't really have any comments to make on this one, I could copy my LONG post from the Van Damme forums but I'll summarise by saying Well Done to Dolph for not accepting a role for the sake of the money, you can see he doesn't want to destroy his best performance and one of his best movies with a shitty script. I also say tough luck to Van Damme that he HAS to star in this film especially after his astonishing comeback. But I think both stars are too good for this project, at least Dolph however has a choice and hasn't backed himself into a legal corner so to speak.

True, he really doesn't mean harm, he just has a tendancy to ramble on, and kinda get himself lost in a conversation.

I think Dolph should sign on for this project, not only because US3 as a good crew behind the film now, but because JC is also in the movie, so that means lots of van damme fans which will see Dolph in this movie and if this movie turns out well, van damme fans could flock to see more Dolph's latest movies like Icarus and future projects.

I totally agree that he should do this movie because the list of advantages is endless, however I do agree with what he's saying in that they need a good script, premise and it needs to be absolutely great, which is sometimes unlikely for a DTV film no matter who is starring or directing.

I actually like the story, The older models of Unisols are sent in for a suicidal mission and are on the run to become human again while being chased by the new and improved future generation of Unisols.

Dolph told me he doesn't want to back out of this project because he believes there's something really cool to be done with it. But he doesn't want to give in on certain conditions, a good script notably, so he's pressuring the producers to do things right. So no start date yet.

It would be nice if he could just squeeeeze this one in and steal the show as Andrew Scott one last time. Unless it warrants a spin-off with Dolph playing a Michael Myers meets John McClain type killer... Andrew Scott: Psycho in the Tower Block...

Hopefully the Expendables buzz will give Dolph a little more clout with the independant studios, and they do hold out for him.

I take it Jox that since US-3 has been confirmed officially to shoot in February then Dolph won't be participating also since he will be shooting Icarus on that month?

Nothing's official yet. I still wouldn't take what you read on VD's forum for granted, but we'll see...

Hmm okay Jox. I guess Dolph could fit something in, but three movies within around four months is pretty hefty.

Why not wait for Icarus, he should concentrate on the expendables and US3, it's 2 big movies for him.

He doesn't have to do icarus now , does he ? Is there a time limit??

It's not that simple (and if it was the movie business would be much easier). I don't know what has been negotiated with the ICARUS producers but he's been working on it for a while now, they have announced it and started pre-sales, so it it has to be done soon. The exact start date hasn't been fixed yet, and if he thinks he can fit it in his schedule then he can. I also think US3 and EXPENDABLES won't start as soon as what's being said on the web...

Word on the Van Damme forum is that US3 begins filming on February 2nd and that Dolph is in for good but I'd take this with a pinch of salt.

Still take it with a pinch of salt? Okay...it kinda puzzled me when the guy said that he had gotten it from a crew member in Bulgaria. I hope it's true so I'll keep my fingers crossed.
