Come on of course he knew who he was back then, or someone told him but he doesn't live on a desert island you know ;)

Travis wrote:What is the story with him and Tarantino again?

Tarantino (with his buddy Roger Avary) was a production assistant on MAXIMUM POTENTIAL (his first paid job on a production given to him by the director John "Cops" Langley who was a client of his video store). As such he had to pick up dog shit from the lawn they were filming on (in Venice or Santa Monica). Years later Tarantino met Lundgren in an elevator and said to himself "this is the guy I picked dog shit for"... That's the only connection I know, I'm not sure what Mosquito is referring to... But I must say Dolph has a very good memory of people, faces and names, whether they're important or not, and they usually are pretty grateful that he does, even after years later.

That is an awesome photo of Dolph and Rollins. Rollins looks tiny compared to Dolph for some reason.

I wonder what Dolph would think if he knew Rollins doesn't feel like he was nice to him. It would be cool if Dolph would give him a call to set things straight.

I think I once heard a story that Tarantino went into Dolph's trailer and Dolph yelled and cursed at him.
I think thats also what Stallone did to Anthony Keidis when Keidis was a little kid playing Stallone's son in FIST.

The way I heard the Tarantino story is that they met again and Dolph didn't recognize him which pissed Tarantino off. But hey, you never know what's true and what's just a tale.

Right, and Tarantino has become quite a jerk and does hold grudges in that sense... Who would remember a background PA (of a video shoot that's a week or two) anyway (they might have barely seen each other)?

US Blu-ray review with screen caps
http://moviemansguide.com/main/2011/06/ ... emonic-bd/

(this is a cheap eidtion but if you want the extras and extended cut you have to buy the expensive Japanese edition)

SPECIAL FEATURES – 0.5/5
Not surprising, but all we get is the Theatrical Trailer (2:19; HD).

VIDEO – 3.75/5
Johnny Mnemonic is presented in its original 1.85 aspect ratio and now thanks to Image Entertainment in 1080p high-definition. The video transfer isn’t the greatest but it does look pretty good with a well defined picture, a decent color spread and only minute amounts of grain that I noticed. I’ve seen better transfers from much older films, but all things considered it’s an OK transfer for the few fans that are out there.

AUDIO – 3.5/5
The DTS-HD MA 5.1 track meanwhile is serviceable if not unremarkable. The dialogue levels are quite good and other background elements make some use out of the front channels (with minimal amount of audio from the rear speakers) but there are some explosions near the end and those were fairly low-key with little to no depth behind them.

I watched this last night, as always, Dolph was pretty good. Reeves isn't a very good actor, very wooden.

Lost 'Johnny Mnemonic' Soundtrack Unearthed!
http://www.spin.com/blogs/lost-johnny-m ... -unearthed

You may or may not know that JOHNNY MNEMONIC had 2 other rejected scores composed for the film before Brad Fiedel (TERMINATOR) composed the music for the official/international released version:
- one composed by New York industrial band Black Rain
- one composed by Mychael Danna (THE SWEET HEREAFTERS, THE HULK, CHLOE) that remained in the Japanese (longer) version

The Black Rain score, that would have given much darker mood to the film, had been released in 1995 under the album title "1.0" but can be hard to find. Now they just released most of it on LP and digital download as "Now I'm Just A Number: Soundtracks 1994-95"
