First time I see Brandon Lee billed first, even in other Asian countries... It's also weird that reversed first and last name for Dolph only (or that they did at all)

i was wondering why running time is indicated 81 minutes ntsc on this Laserdisc, when the real running time of this action flick in only 78 R-rated and 79 unrated ( basically just 20 seconds more). I noticed this running time 81 minutes on many old VHS covers as well !!! Maybe some where exist a longer version , or this include the original trailer in the running time

It's probably a typo just like the running time on THE PUNISHER's US releases has always been cited as 92 min whereas it's 89...

Jox ! i know u had interviews with Mark L Lester ! did he ever showed u a workprint version of SILT , working materials or something as Albert Pyun did for Cyborg some years ago !I am pretty sure he should have it somewhere on a tape or some .. beta ... etc. ! His generation soon or late will be gone and I am afraid that nobody will see their masterpieces hidden somewhere in vaults .... and this is sad

I don't know how sincere he was but when I spoke to Mark (after years of trying) at his Cannes market company booth, he said he wanted to release a SILT special edition including director's cut and that he would talk WB into it (which was about a year before the Blu-ray was released), so yeah he must have kept a Beta tape copy or something...

But being inside the corporate distribution business, he would probably never get it out there without permission from WB.

The only chance there I can see now, and because WB seems to have changed their third-party licensing policy in the meantime, is if say a German indie label would sublicense the movie, and get permission from both Lester and WB to add the extended cut as an extra (which is not always to the liking of big studios either so there's some lobbying to do if you don't want to ruin your relationship with them to acquire future title).

thanks for the answer ! Yeah I know company policies suck ! I remember in November 2018 when MVD announced that they will release Double Impact (1991) and director Sheldon Lettich provided 2 workprint versions of DI ! I was so happy and in March 2019 MVD apologized saying that MGM didn't allowed them to release those 2 workprints in their coming Collector's Edition ! But at least they allow to include some deleted/ extended/ alternated scenes from those 2 workprints !

in case of SILT WB is obligated to fix the mistake they did in 1991, messing with this movie so badly !!! They did the same with Seagal early movies, but not that bad as with SILT creating so many goofs...

i didn't post in a long time, busy always, but still check it out ! I don't know if u Jox have copy of this article regarding SILT from 1991 ! I noticed a cool promotional poster that i never saw before ! i saw close one in internet but in this one cast have different position:
I mean the bottom one with Dolph, Tia, Brandon, Cary and Toshishiro

Does anyone have more info about production of SILT ? Didn't hear anything for a long time !

Or maybe articles from magazines, new stills, lobby cards or some ....

Yes, I do have a hard copy of that German magazine (from January 1992 not '91 actually), it contains a 4-pages preview article on SHOWDOWN with synopsis/presentation and mostly photos.
