(The Grand Rex is where I actually first saw UNISOL on its French release date July 29, 1992. It's also where the premieres of EX1 and EX2 were held, as well as CREED II paired with ROCKY IV.)

For people who gets the requested material for 4K support, the 4K disc for UNISOL is actually at a very cheap price for physical 4K standard (10€) on French Amazon. I think it is a very good deal for EU residents.
I bought a copy myself and will compare it to the actual blu ray disc.

This is because sales are bad and some people had issues with StudioCanal Transfers the last few years. They messed up badly with Stallone movies Rambo Trilogy Remaster and especially Cliffhanger (1993) - i heard a lot of criticism on their choice to add that green color filter everywhere. After Cameron started with Terminators and Titanic using this green filter some studios started the same. The problem is that some studious over saturated the image with green killing natural color looking of the movie. I sold out StudioCanal remaster of Cliffhanger and purchase the better one from Sony in the US. U can check it on caps a holic

StudioCanal made a mistake when then they started to release movies on Blu Ray on 24 fps ( like natural film speed footage) instead of 23.97 fps). Someone can complain the difference is not big, but in fact people disliked it. I heard rumors that French labels also started to remaster old classic french comedies from 70s-80s on Blu also 24 fps instead of 23,97. The problem again are the audio tracks. When people converted 25 fps to 23,97 fpr and vice versa with different audio track speed it was easier. Today 23.97 to 24 fps ( this min. dif.) is very hard to catch the foreign audio track and video and to match it right ( when foreign track voice need to match mouth moving, moves at the same time). It become a pain in the a... for many persons with whom I talked. Very often it doesn't work good.

That's not the case of UNIVERSAL SOLDIER, on the other hand the former 2008 Lionsgate edition was overly-saturated color-wise and full of DNR diminishing the original definition.

The 24 fps / 23.97 fps subject is more complex than it looks.

Can we stay on topic please, instead of digressing every time you feel the urge to comment?

I agree Lionsgate 2008 Unisol Blu Ray was inferior to 2011 StudioCanal BD release and the last remaster. On the other hand we don;t need to forget Lionsgate 2008 BD was VC -1 not AVC like StudioCanal. Originally VC 1 was invented by Microsoft for HD DVD not for for the Blu Ray. After HD DVD lost the battle ( or war of formats) in early 2008 many companies didn't want to reinvest money in the new BD format. This explain why this 2008 first generation Unisol BD was so bad. Not only Lionsgate did it, WARNER Bros was the first company who transferred a lot of movies from their catalog on BD VC-1. (again Seagal Stallone transfers from that time are the best examples). Time proved VC 1 was inferior ( in comp. to AVC) and was abandoned.
At first sight drop price of the new BD UniSol is a plus for customers, but it was more a side effect of other bad transfers of other movies (like i said previously) and this doesn't have any direct connection to Unisol itself. It is more a cummulative or a chain reaction of events... that affected reputation of SC.
