DEAN DEVLIN: During the shoot of the movie, Jean-Claude van Damme and Dolph decided they were going to a “best body” contest. They set the date several weeks ahead, and they began training every single day in between shots to win the competition. When the day finally arrived, both men took off their shirts and posed during lunch. The crew wrote down their votes. And when the votes were tallied, Gary our camera operator… won. Both Jean-Claude van Damme and Dolph Lundgren were very upset.

Lots of rare behind the scenes pics from pre-production / location scouts / cooling chamber set, courtesy of SFX supervisor Kit West (Samuel Fueller's BIG RED ONE, RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, RETURN OF THE JEDI, David Lycnh's DUNE, EMPIRE OF THE SUN, Ridley Scott's 1492):

Same extras as the Australian Blu Ray release from 2010, except my version is missing the "Blu Ray Trivia Track".

The trivia text track isn't that much worthwhile, most of the facts are covered in the commentary or elsewhere and sometimes not directly linked to the movie...

Yeah, it definitely didn't seem like anything important. The commentary was quite good actually. Emmerich was very in depth.

Michael Jai White:
AVC: Universal Soldier was your first big studio job. Did you get to know the cast on the first film?

MJW: Actually, Jean-Claude Van Damme—even though I had a very little role—we trained together. He was so incredibly nice. I remember we were in a foxhole in a Vietnam flashback sequence, and it was freezing. We’re [filming] out in the middle of the desert, but it’s freezing. And he insisted that I wear his jacket between takes. This is something I never forgot about the guy. He was so nice to me, and that’s really who he is. And the fact that years later in [Universal Soldier: The Return], I’m his nemesis and we have to fight together… I’d met Dolph before, but I got to know him a little bit on that set a well. And here we are, working together on Skin Trade.

After 2013's steelbook, here is yet another German edition, this time in Mediabook (digibook) to be released July 20th (limited 1,000 units).

It does contain a 16-pages booklet, and as the previous one also features the B-roll behind the scenes footage and the alternate 2001 audio commentary (plus all the U.S. extras).
