I didn't know that Tim Burton originally wanted William Stout to be the production designer on BEETLEJUICE, but he couldn't wait any longer when MOTU went over schedule...

An article from the daily newspaper in Whittier, California, from October 1986 referring to Dolph's training and tanning at a downtown gym while filming Masters of the Universe.

It mentions some of the less obvious problems raised by prolonged filming at night (though not to being cold in the He-Man costume...!)

Found on the internet; the highlighting is not mine. The quality is the best I could do

No problem - glad that it pleased you. Some interesting points in there, I thought.

Thanks for all that you do for this site, Jox - and Joyeux Noel!

Today marks the 35th anniversary of when I personally first saw it (and when it "all" started)...

Edward Pressman, Notable Indie Producer of ‘Wall Street,’ ‘Conan the Barbarian,’ ‘Badlands,’ Dies at 79
https://variety.com/2023/film/news/edwa ... 235493386/

Not only Pressman was the main driving force behind MOTU (long before he got Cannon involved) and has had an incredible, prolific career that very few in Hollywood can boast of... I'm glad I had the opportunity to talk to him about MASTERS in the early 2010s (and he asked for my opinions on potential directors for his aborted remake of PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE in association with the late Samuel Hadida).

Josh Olson @joshuarolson

Ed Pressman inadvertently gave me my start in movies. I walked in cold to the offices of Masters of the Universe, and they thought I was the son of a friend of his. Told him years later, and he knew who I was talking about, thought it was hilarious, and said he was proud of me
