We're still not entirely sure the Van Damme part was the same one.
I'm certain Dolph is Gunnar and as Tom said it sounds quite Nordic.

I think maybe the guys on the Sly forum are wrong. Because I definately think it's Gunnar too.

Yeah Gunnar definitely sounds right for Dolph. Couldn't imagine Sly using that one for himself. Hale Caesar sounds really cool!

He has already been Gunnar in a movie. In Men of War he was Nick Gunnar. Gunnar is of course not a last name but it does have the word "gun" in it and that goes a long way!

Sly is scouting locations right now. He's looking at Sao Paulo, and is apparently looking at a City, and a coast for his flick. I guess the Expendables will turn up on the beach in their cammies! Ooh yeah!

silly question, but is the movie threatened by a possible actor's strike ?

That's a good question, but it might not, since Nu Image/Millennium is independent and a lot of their projects are not bound by SAG (Screen Actors Guild) agreements (one of the reasons the company have been criticized last year during the writers strike I believe). Also it seems that apart from the stars, most actors and extras will be locals. So even if the strike happens they might get away with it (I may be wrong, I'm not a specialist of in these matters but that's how I see it)...

Probably not. I'd hope it'd be sorted by then. Plus being as it's all really big stars who get paid loads, I'm sure they don't really care. I would guess Sly will cast locals in Brazil for the other parts.

The casting is becoming more interesting. Mayb they should add the following in the mix:
Wesley Snipes
Val Kilmer
Gary Daniels
Lorenzo Lamas
Hulk Hogan in a cameo
Nathan Jones (4 a fight with Dolph)
& Bill Paxton (A guy part of many many big films)...

Would love to see Michael Paré playing in that movie, too.Would be surely interesting to see Dolph and Paré working together for the second time!

SPOILER WARNING
Vern read and reviewed the script here http://www.aintitcool.com/node/39600

and added a nice paragraph about D as well (can't hurt on a mainstream site about the hottest project in town)
Those are the marquee names, but the actor I was happiest to see cast was Dolph Lundgren. Obviously it's cool to see the Balboa/Drago rematch (or reteam), but I'm excited more because I think Lundgren deserves to be on the big screen again. The DTV pictures he's been directing and starring in are surprisingly watchable, and physically he's held up better than almost any of the '80s and '90s action stars. He still has a super hero physique with his towering height and square jaw, but looks more interesting with some wrinkles on his face.

Haha, sounds good and I totally agree with Vern that Lundgren looks every ounce the badass that he used to even in 2008...soon to be '09.
