Just a thought, I know this is far from completion or even shooting but how many times is everyone going to see The Expendables? I am a fan of Dolph and Stallone and Statham etc etc so I think four or five times to support each action star is enough. :D

How many times? There's a question.

I've only seen one film (Superman Returns) multiple times in the cinema, so I may do the same again for The Expendables. It'll be the first Dolph film I've seen theatrically, and the same goes for Statham and Jet Li.

Same here, first Dolph movie I'll have seen theatrically too. Seen a couple of Statham and Li ones in theatres this year and last.

Oh, and Shooter, too. Missed Masters, Punisher (got caught sneaking in!) and Rocky though, bugger...

Caffeinated Clint : 2008 Yearbook Edition

# 65. Dolph Lundgren made his first step towards a major comeback (with a role in Stallone’s “The Expendables”) whilst Jean Claude Van Damme blew his chances of one by nixing the same role.

I got a question??

Is it true Dolph's role will be small like 15 minutes or less??

It's hard to know how long it will be on screen but I wouldn't call his role small and it should be more than 15 mins.

Hey if he fights Jet Li, TWICE!, that will get him more recognition for his role than if he was just another mercenary. I like the fact that he turns bad!! I was just looking at Dolph's IMDB page and he's got a damn lot going on for a DTV star. Five filming, completed and announced projects!!

Nathan, a spoiler warning would have been nice. :-(

Am I right in thinking the script isn't yet completed? Due to positive buzz, Dolph's role could grow. Apparently Matthew Marsden had his role beefed up on set when Sly made Rambo '08, so you never know...

It depends on what you call completed. There is a currently completed 130+ pages screenplay (which will most likely be trimmed or else it really will be epic!).

Movies today always go through many drafts plus constant rewrites during filming. Also if we generally say one page makes is about 50 seconds/1min of film, it's unpredictable when it comes to action (one paragraph can become a 20 mins sequence or even if it's written in details it can never be shot the exact same way and the editing will dictate the pace anyway).

Sure I think Sly is smart and might develop Dolph's part, there's definitely room for it. But even now he has room for a memorable performance.

Nathan, a spoiler warning would have been nice.

This one will be hard to miss as it's spread all over the net. I don't think it's a major spoiler anyway.

I'm sure, like many of you said, his role should be getting bigger. When I visited his IMDb page - I post under NotoriousA_R_T_Spigel - I noticed there were pages and pages of buzz about him potentially joining the cast, and when he finally did, his NewsDesk exploded! I really think the fact that he is a part of this, is what got people buzzing like crazy.

I hope his part will be more than 15 minutes! It better be.

And like somebody asked above, I will probably see it more than once to give my support! When I support something or somebody, I go all out. a few extra dollars to bring Dolph Lundgren to the big screen after The Expendables is nothing! If I get asked why I'm watching this movie I'll say, FOR DOLPH LUNDGREN!

I am SO READY FOR THIS!

Doesn't this all just make you proud to be a Dolph Lundgren fan? *Wipes tears*    :D :D
