Robert Knepper (Teabag in Prison Break, and bad guy in Transporter 3) has signed up for The Expendables. I watch T3 last night and was thinking he'd be a good addition to the cast, and hey presto, he's announced this morning.
Incidentally, Transporter 3 was pretty bad, but entertainingly bad. It wasn't supposed to be so funny but some of the dialogue scenes in the film are so unintentionally funny. The editing was horrible. There's some good action in the first half of the film, some decent fights, and a quality chase with Statham on a trick bike, but the last few action scenes are overdone, including a car chase in fast forward (all it's lacking is Benny Hill music), and a rubbish final action scene. Knepper however was the best bad guy in the whole series. He just made the villain interesting, unpredictable and he was clearly a little bit "method" with it.
Still Statham may not be a very good actor, but he's got that stoney faced badass look down well. He's seriously cut in the film too. Also not quite sure why, but for most of the movie Statham just falls into his English accent. Sure his American accent from the first two is horrible, but he just forgot in this one, also in part to being given a lot more dialogue (and some horrendous dialogue at that). It's still watchable for some good fights and laughs, but it's by far the worst in the series, and lacks a lot of the fun and imagination of the first two.
