Not sure yet but from what I read it sounds like it, at least it's closer to the shooting script.
are we getting a dvd release?
Surely but when???!

So does it include D's pirate joke? loved that, still no idea why it was cut.

I think so from what I've read, plus Dolph has a bit more stuff and alternative lines and some longer scenes.

"Dont know, but its driving me Nuts!" great joke needs to be in there and I think I might even have to twit/tweet/whatever that whole joke and we can do an expendables quote-athon mate like the CP one we did.

Well Dolph endured a hard time filming this scene (one of the worst moments of his career he told me, read AICN report here), that Sly had him do numerous times, shouting at him to finally acknowledge that the first take was the best... Then the joke was omitted after the first test screenings and one guy in the audience had written something about it (watch the DVD/BR post-production documentary "From the Ashes").

I still want to see his, "Hot soup!" Blam! Shoots a guy bit. He mentioned it in the G4 interview for Command Performance...

Robert Mark Kamen (writer of THE KARATED KID, THE PUNISHER, THE FIFTH ELEMENT, THE TRANSPORTER TAKEN) (re)wrote the production script of THE EXPENDABLES for Stallone (uncreditedly).

Watching The Expendables on the big screen was such a carthartic experience for me. The whole concept, as envisioned by Stallone, was to unite action stars from the last thirty years in one giant splooge fest of testosterone, explosions, and Dolph Lundgren madness.
As I mentioned earlier, Dolph Lundgren is the balls of this movie. He absolutely tears shit up, and it made me so happy to see him do it. Stallone reached out and gave one of the most bad-ass action stars of all time one more shot to tear the roof off.

Brian Tyler won a BMI Film Music Award for the score of THE EXPENDABLES (along with three other ones this year alone!).

THE EXPENDABLES also received a Taurus Award Best Fire Work at the World Stunts Awards (for the scene where the pier is doused with gas and explodes with all the bad guys on it) and was nominated for Best Fight (the underground tunnel scene fights).

Other nomination was Saturn Award for Best Action/Adventure film at the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films.
