The Extended Director's Cut FINNISH EDITION contains 5 discs, 2 BD + 3 DVD and includes all the special features available. Too bad it doesn't seem to have the theatrical cut as well...

Interesting anecdote from Steve Austin about an omitted scene with Dolph I didn't know about (not in either script drafts I have) and was never filmed:
Sly wrote a one page monologue when I was trying to recruit Dolph’s character onto our side and we didn’t end up shooting it, but Sly had written it. Man, I had memorized it, had worked over it many, many times so I was looking forward to doing the scene with Dolph because I’m a big fan of his going back from the early dies, from the Rocky franchise. I wanted Sly to be hands on and help me deliver that thing. It never happened but nonetheless I still have the page that he wrote for me.

It's not in the Director's cut ? Otherwise, still a well known dolph's fan ;)

As he told and as I wrote above: it was not even filmed, it was just a scene written on paper. ;)
(So it would be hard to incude the scene in the director's cut.)

Probably a scene Sly wrote during production and scrapped at the last minute because it was not in the first version of the screenplay (december '08) or the shooting script dated May 11 '09 (halfway filming) revision...

25 Cool Movie Crews You'd Want To Be Part Of - The best movies mates who'd always have your back

ABOUT THE CREW
Fun fact: if you measured the biceps of the entire Expendables team and laid the results end-to-end, it would reach halfway around the planet. The insanely tough crew are, onscreen, an elite band of super-competent mercenaries with specialities in martial arts, sniping, demolitions and generally opening cans of whoop-ass. In real life, they're basically every action hero of the last 30 years. Led by Stallone's Barney Ross, they go where other tough guys fear to tread and generally blow everything up when they get there. With two films down and another on its way, these elder statesmen of destruction are only getting more formidable, recruiting the passing likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger's Trench Mauser and Chuck Norris' Booker whenever anything threatens to go un-roundhouse kicked in the head.

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER
Dolph Lundgren’s Gunnar Jensen, who brings some occasionally much-needed levity to proceedings as the drug-addled, alcohol-befuddled, betrayal-prone, combat-stressed and generally nuts team sniper. He gets bonus points for poking fun at himself: Lundgren’s own degree in chemical engineering is added to Jensen’s character for laughs.

THEIR DEFINING MOMENT
This gunfight aboard a boat, where their victory over their opponents is so assured that leads Ross and Lee Christmas (Jason Statham) take a moment out to bicker over who shoots whom.

In regards to Steve Austin's monologue from earlier in the thread, it's in one of the scripts I have;

GUNNAR locks eyes with MONROE, registering nothing. MONROE
tempers his emotions and glances at PAINE, who steps forward.

PAINE
(to Gunnar)
Step over here. *

PAINE and GUNNAR move several yards away. PAINE turns and
faces GUNNAR, but can still see MONROE clearly in the
background.

SECOND PINK REVISIONS 5/11/09 66

PAINE

You know why I wanted to hire you?
‘Cause I know you, I’ve been
through the shit you’ve been
through an’ I’m not blind. Your
eyes tell me you’re hurtin,’ like *
has your whole life been a waste? *
You want a future that won’t be as
worthless as your past. We all do.

(calmly)

Look at me -

(Gunnar raises his eyes)

You’re here ‘cause they didn’t want *
you - This is your ‘family’ now, *
this is where you put your loyalty
now.

GUNNAR lowers his eyes to the ground pondering the statement
as PAINE nods to MONROE, ‘We got him.’

What's the name of the song playing on the beginning of the director's cut, after the first mission? Love that song.
