DARK ANGEL / I COME IN PEACE (Craig R. Baxley, 1989)

I come in peace is the only Dolph movie that hasn’t been released on DVD yet. That’s strange because it did well at the Box office. I think all of us have to send in a request of the film, to speed up the process.

I don’t really remember who it was that posted the idea and the link - to the company with the rights - on the old forum, so who ever it was please post it again because I don’t have the link myself any more.

There is a DVD in Australia but it seems to be out of stock, at least at the only online shop I found down there. No wonder, Dolph fans from all over the world have ordered it, I guess.

Is there any where else in the world where you can find it on DVD, or where it has been out before

It might be possible to find a used copy

ebay is my best guess. But beware - there are also bootlegs on sale and people bid quite high because they don't know that those are bootlegs with lousy sound and picture! The bootleg I've seen looks like the old poster with a painted version of Dolph's face. Jox has a link to the Australian one on the site: http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/223734. But it's out of stock. You can check what the cover looks like.

PS: Here is an old auction with the bootleg: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3371860168

I found this Australian site: http://www.familyboxoffice.com.au/movie.asp?ID=9471

It looks like they still have the DVD

Looks fine but I don't understand the validation process for credit cards of new customers. Hm...

Did you order and did it work?

No I haven’t ordered it yet and I agree it looks a bit strange

Dolph's comments about Matthias Hues

I just went through the filmography on the official site for the first time and read the text about Dark Angel aka I Come In Peace. I think it is funny that most of the text deals with Matthias Hues. He must have left some impression on Dolph even though Dolph seems to have forgotten his name (or why else wouldn't he mention it?). Funny though: Dolph says that Matthias was a decathlete from East Germany. All I know is that Matthias has owned a bodybuilding gym in Frankfurt - and that was the Frankfurt in West Germany. Am I wrong here? I also read that Matthias practises martial arts but never read about decathlon or even olympics.
...

I just read the biography on Matthias' official site and yupp, Dolph is quite wrong. Tsts... poor Matthias! I recommend reading his biography. Even though it has quite a few typos it is very personal and interesting to read. Hard to tell from such a text but I have the impression that Matthias is a very friendly guy and quite honest.

BTW: On the "Projects" page on matthiashues.com there's an announcement of the freeware action game "Dark Angel The Return - This time he comes in peace, too". Sounds funny ;-)

On Hue's IMDB biography it says he was a pnetathlete, that's probably what Dolph was tlaking about.

the screenshots suggest that the freeware game is a 3D shoot'em out game but why didn't they use the space gun from the movie?

Before being an actor, Ralf Moeller (Universal Soldier, Gladiator, The Sorpion King) was a swimmer, a boxer and a bodybuilder. He trained in martial art too. So it's not strange that Hues was a pentathlete

Ralf Mueller is also one huge dude. I have seen him around but I have never spoke to him.

hmpf. Maybe the quality is better than the Australian DVD (looks like an old VHS tape).
