Another MEN OF WAR special edition but not in a "3D futurepack" metal case.
Same booklet and special features (including my own retrospective making of interview and Dolph's).

Apparently Metropolitan got the rights back but they won't release this in a special edition, maybe as a double Dolph release like they just did with some Van Damme movies (like BLACK EAGLE with WRONG BET/A.W.O.L./LIONHEART and THE QUEST with THE ORDER).

My favorite Swedish dinner would be baby seal and whale ass in the summer. But I'd really die for some Chinese."

REVIEW OUR SCORE 3 stars out 5
by Scott Hamilton and Chris Holland

Although the testosterone-laden action is plentiful in this jungle-island war drama, the script (partially written by John Sayles) is startlingly good. A group of mercenaries sent to the island is charged with convincing the locals to sign over the mineral rights, but some of the group find themselves siding with the islanders. Despite the fact that this has all the makings of a bad commando movie, it's probably the best film of Dolph Lundgren's career. This unusually intellectual war flick includes a stand-out performance by BD Wong (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) as a wisecracking local.

23 years after MEN OF WAR, director Perry Lang is currently in post-production of his 3rd feature film called INTERVIEW WITH GOD starring David Strathairn, after having shot many popular TV shows episodes such as "ER", "MILLENNIUM", "ALIAS" and "WEEDS" among others...

Out of curiosity and since it's on the Blu-ray, I just took a sneak peak at the German VHS 75 minutes cut of MEN OF WAR (25 min deleted footage!) and the final fight is just WOW  :
Nick gives Keefer one "last" punch and it suddenly cuts to his close-up looking at Loki and Po relieved...

I don't even wanna think about how it felt watching the whole movie butchered in a non-sensical way like that ; I have all the more respect for German fans now (since other movies were severely cut over there) !
