Echo bridge have been doing alot better on their releases lately. That saying, the dvd I have of this in that EB triple pack is a mess. Enjoyed the movie and I can't clearly be live with that version. Might be willing to upgrade but I wish they put this with blackjack or another one of his films.

Yeah why don't they put MEN OF WAR, HIDDEN ASSASSIN and BLACKJACK all together? I'm sure BJ will come out soon then but in another boxset with other movies we don't care about. :|

I agree. Double/triple packs are OK, but keep them to sequels or films by the same actor. Having said that, I'm really happy to hear the date got bumped up for Men of War.

Right, or a clear theme, like one film each from all the Expendables stars for example.

Jox, are you planning to pick up the Men of War disc on release date? Other than fan reviews, I wonder if any DVD/Blu-Ray sites will even consider reviewing this disc early on?

I don't know actually, as I'd rather find out first if the image format is gonna be in original aspect ratio (2.35:1) or (1.78:1)...

Yeah, might be wise to wait for clarification on the aspect ratio. I was looking forward to this coming out this week, but it seems Amazon and other retailers have the date set at September 11th now :(.

From what I heard each re-release with Echo Bridge can have a different transfer and aspect ratio, so if not in this one then in the next...

Echo Bridge have released everything in 1.78:1 so far, so yes, probably true.

I've been told by regular buyers of their sets that their numerous re-releases of each movie do varie each time so there's hope, if not for this one, then on a near future edition.

As usual with echo bridge titles, some wal-mart stores have this out early (along with several other of their double features). I expect best buy will have these soon as well but $5 at wal-mart.

If you get one, can you check the aspect ratio?
