Oh, believe me, I'm talking about Men of War--Trevor Goddard is an excellent villain in this film and Dolph is in tip-top shape, but for some reason I remember bits of stock footage of the village people in this. Then again, I haven't seen this in one year, so I'll have to throw this on my Netflix queue and get a second opinion.

Somehow I knew taht someone was going to make a Village People joke

Out of curiosity, where do you guys rank this film in your top Dolph films list? Higher than something like Dark Angel or SilT?

They're hardly comparable but personally yes, I'd rank MOW higher than DARK ANGEL or SHOWDOWN.

Wich are very funny movies but very 8O's in the spirit. Very... you know: It's better to watch them with a common sense of humour !

MoW is very high on my Top 10 list. When it comes to an actual ranking I find it hard to put them in a specific order though. But I think MoW is better than Dark Angel.

Agreed - Men Of War is definitely one of Dolph's most impressive movies. It featured a great combination of storytelling, humour, and action scenes, which were very well shot. Goddard, as previously mentioned, played a great and genuinely cold-blooded villain, and really looked like he could kick Dolph's ass in a scrap!

I'd place this alongside the likes of Universal Soldier as one of Dolph's most superior pictures. Certainly better than the likes of The Minion or Storm Catcher!

It's one of my favorite Dolph movies, standing up there with Universal Soldier.

Wow, I should probably buy this then. Is it as good as The Mechanik, tho?

Well... this is just my opinion, but...

MoW is the best Dolph movie in every category... except the action scenes. There is a pretty long delay between action scenes, and some of the action that does come isn't all that well handled... Here's an example: Slow motion panning shot of Dolph attacking a guy. Just as Dolph reaches the guy and is about to strike... a fucking tree gets in the way of the money shot. We then move around the tree in time to see the other guy hit the ground.

Seriously. What the fuck.

Acting? check. Cinematography? Check. Script? Check. Etc. Check. Action... half-check?

That's in the R-rated version, if you get the unrated Holland dvd, you see the intended action of Dolph killing the guy, amongst other things.
