Can you link to the auction, please? I'm too lazy for a search. But I'd like to know how much people pay for it.

:?: I wonder what 'Cut' the movie was.

I grew up with the 'Uncut version' on video here in Australia. DVD is only available in the 'USA' and 'Korea' what are both 'Cut' of 2 close up headshots with English Dolby Digital 1.0 Mono and 1.85:1 widescreen.

:!: Filmed in my home town of 'Sydney' at Lunar Park, next to the 'Harbour Bridge'.

THE PUNISHER (Dolph Lundgren) vs. THE PUNISHER (Thomas Jane)

Postby Dolph_Fan on 13 Jul 2005, 17:46

Can I have comments relating to a comparison between The Punisher (Dolph Lundgren)and The Punisher (Thomas Jane) from those who have viewed both films.

I read a magazine a while back where the writers compared the two Punishers to see who was the best, based on Lundgren's and Jane's different abilities / achievements.

In terms of intellect, Dolph won, seeing as how he has an IQ of 160, speaks 5 languages and holds a Master's Degree in chemical engineering and all, whereas Jane, er, doesn't.
He won on the education front too, having studied at Stockholm and MIT, and as I recall, Jane went to the same acting school as Ben Affleck...
Plus, Jane is only about 5'10'' or so, our man is, what, 6' 6''?
Oh yeah, and let's not forget Dolph's obvious martial arts advantage.

Hehe. Don't get me wrong, I'm not dissing Thomas Jane - I thought his movie was actually very good. I just reckon that if the two men were to fight for real, Dolph would wipe the floor with Tom. Heck, he'd wipe the floor with most people, Van Damme and Sly included.
Anyone agree?

I think the second, new "Punisher"was a desaster of all movie- genres. The story is just basing on repayments, violence, anger and revenge. For people who like to see pleine kills and explosions, it might be a good choice if standing in front of the cinema and looking for a good movie to watch. I hated it, even that they tried to represent other familiar actors like John Travolta... I think he was acting along, but since I watched this film, a long time has been passed and I can't swear remembering him in there. lol

Actually the movie with Dolph is much older and I think that both movies have their own movie value... of course I'd firstly prefer watching a movie starring Dolph Lundgren, but in this case both movies were kind of main stream in a way.
In hope for someone who could replace the real Dolph one day if he's (hopefully not as soon) out of business...

Am I the only one excited about it among all Dolph and Punisher fans??!

This score haunted me for years, especially the music theme at the end, when the Punisher is sitting by the piano, that has a very sad and tragic feel to it.

I was also 'interested' , about it being made, made available. I had enough interest that I contacted the producers month(s) before the release to donate my graphic design services for the inlay and booklets. But I was informed that they had already been designed. Lets hope their admirable as the VHS/DVD sleeves.

If when anyone aquires this item, if you could scan the sleeve/booklets and make them available for me to view it would help my interest.

did you already know it was about to be released this year? Because I only found out a couple of weeks ago... I met with the composer Dennis Dreith two years ago and he told me he was in discussion with a company to release it but didn't know when this would happen...

i would have to disagree with u guys and say that i liked the newer punisher movie better than the one with dolph. (but i still love dolph!!!!) :D maybe its bcuz i seen the newer one first...? one reason is in the one with dolph, it doesnt focus much on the story on how he became the punisher, the movie kinda jumped into it and we had to rely on flashbacks, whereas in tom janes movie it explained his past and how he became the punisher more clearly.

also, terminator, in the newer punisher, he never used killed in vengeance bcuz at the end when hes standing on the bridge he says "...revenge is not a valid motive..."

The new Punisher movie is O.K :), Dolph Lundgren played the role much better then Tom Janes, look at the emotions on Tom's face when he kills people compared to Dolph facials, especially when his shooting.

Tom Janes just wanted to kill the people who killed his family, where Dolph wanted to kill all the guilty, the sequel will probably be better with Tom if there explore his 'War' days. I also grew up reading the comic and thought the Dolph movie was closer to the subject.
