Cover-Up has only been released on DVD in a few countries: UK, US, Sweden, Germany, France and that's pretty much it for now...

COVER-UP trailer?

Postby Jack Caine on 02 Feb 2009, 20:40

For some reason, I want to buy Cover-Up on dvd this morning, based on all the information and pictures on the main Dolph - Ultimate Guide webpage (love the site!) but before I buy it I want to see the trailer, but I can't seem to find it anywhere on the internet. Does anyone have a link or is this a missing trailer like Silent Trigger was until 2 months ago.

I don't think that's the full trailer, that website has a habit of cutting off bits at the end but it'll give you an idea if you've never seen it before. It's a solid, gripping little thriller and I'm actually gonna watch it tonight now!!! The UK dvd has a fantastic trailer.

My two cents:

Pretty boring for the 1st 2 thirds. Very cliche, with little action and a terrible musical score. The last third is gripping material though. AND WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT LOOK AT THE LITTLE PIECE OF PAPER THAT COMES WITH THE DVD LISTING THE CHAPTER SELECTIONS! That fucking thing should come with a goddamn spoiler tag!

Oh, and does anyone know what happened to that OTHER Cover-Up trailer? The really kick-ass one that makes it look like an action movie? It used to be on youtube, but... not anymore.

This looks pretty good for a shallow-actioned Dolph flick, but the dvd cover isn't too enticing. I'd much rather they used the cool poster rather than the strange wipe with Dolph and Gossett standing in it.

At the time COVER-UP was meant as departure from the action action genre for Dolph who was not yet resigned to only make action flicks. Director Manny Coto who's now a big timer producer on "24" took on his first feature and gave it all these Hitchcock thriller references.

I like some cues of the music, almost mystical, especially the end titles (the main title credits and theme are a bit reminding of the PUNISHER main titles).

I had all the Dolph trailers on youtube at some point but when I received a warning for MEN OF WAR I decided to take them all down....

I'll dig up the original trailer and post it at some point.

I watched it last night, I enjoyed it a lot as I did before. Forget any cliches or lack of action, I feel the story is interesting enough to compensate for the downscale of the action. Starts off slow and the excitment increases from there..

If you really want this, try the UK version; it's incredibly cheap, region free (0) and contains the full trailer anyway. For the price, it's well worth investing in.

Here's one from Amazon;

Oooo, thanks for posting that leigh! Only problem is, I have a region 1 player and an xbox360--that won't play on either of them, will it?

Region 0 means it's region free, so it should be fine! Just make sure your DVD player can adapt to PAL format and not just NTSC, otherwise it won't display the image.

Ohh yeah I forgot that was a region 0. If you can get this one Jack then I really recommend it because it's got a great trailer on it. I think you'll find the movie quite exciting when you get into it. Just don't expect typical Dolph!!
